Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Storm learn to harness and embody the wrath of wind and storm. Through careful control, they are able to channel and utilizing this unpredictable and dangerous element.
Touched by Lightning
Starting at 3rd level, your connection with the storm enhances your abilities:
- You learn the shocking grasp cantrip. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
- Furthermore, when you use an action to cast shocking grasp, you may use your bonus action to make an unarmed strike as normal. You cannot use this bonus action to make a Flurry of Blows.
- When you make an unarmed strike, you can choose to make the damage type: bludgeoning, lightning, or thunder damage.
- You become as fast as lightning, and gain 10 feet of additional movement.
Storm’s Fury
Starting at 6th level, your training has enabled you to channel lightning in new and powerful ways.
Fists of Lightning. Whenever you hit with a melee weapon attack you can spend 1 ki point to deal an additional martial arts die of either lightning or thunder damage, your choice.
Thundering Blow. When you take the attack action on your turn, you can spend 3 ki points to cast shatter at second level as a bonus action. You take no damage from shatter if it is cast in this way.
Call of the Storm
Starting at 11th level, you've learned how to infuse the storm into your very being.
Galvanic Isolation. You gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage.
The Storm Gathers. As action, you can spend 2 ki points to have a bolt of lightning strike your body. You take 2d10 lightning damage, and are considered to be under the effect of the haste until the end of your next turn. You do not have to maintain concentration on haste and do no suffer the lethargic effects when the spell ends.
The Eye of the Storm
At 17th level, you have become one with the storm. As an action, you can spend 5 ki points to embody the arcing and chaining nature of lightning, targeting up to four creatures.
Disappearing into a bolt of lightning you may:
- Select the first target within 30 ft., and make a melee weapon attack against them.
- You may then select a second target, within 30 ft. of the first target and make a melee weapon attack against them.
- You may then select a third target, within 30 ft. of the second target and make a melee weapon attack against them.
- You may then select a fourth target, within 30 ft. of the third target and make a melee weapon attack against them.
When the final attack is made, you appear in a location adjacent to last target chosen.
When selecting targets, a single creature cannot be selected consecutively. You must jump to a new target before returning to a previous selected target.
