Base Class: Monk
This is a monastic tradition created by the monk Khala’Rynn through his experiences with the teachers at his monastery teaching him how to hone his skills, his experiences with the monastery of the shadow arts, rogue clans and his skills as a dancer and half-drow. All abilities in the way of the prince of night are shadow, moon or dance themed.
Nightdancer’s Prowess
Dancer’s Agility: When you're prone, you can stand up by spending 5 feet of movement, rather than half your speed.
Blinded Focus: You have blinded sight up to 10 feet. This is related to the Kyone-Veldrin fighting style, a drow fighting style concerning not being affected by blindness and focussing on the surroundings. This together with the glow of the moon always keeps you from being affected by blindness. You can’t actually see but suffer no disadvantage.
As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast Darkness without needing material components. Additionally, you gain the Minor Illusion cantrip if you don't already know it.
Leaping Shadow
At 6th level, you gain the ability to step from one shadow into another. When you are in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action you can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You then have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn. This can be done as many times equal to your monk level per long rest.
Stepping Moon
Moon’s Twister: While you are in difficult terrain, you may use your bonus action and movement to perform a complex series of acrobatic flips and jumps to complete the rest of your movement, as if you were on normal terrain. You can apply the use of this feature to climbing as well.
Moon’s Wings: You have gained a superhuman quality of agility. When performing a standing long jump or high jump, you can double your jump height and distance, you now determine the distance you travel based on your Dexterity score, rather than your Strength score. Standing from prone requires 0 extra movement, and you have advantage on saving throws made to avoid falling prone.
The Night Sky’s Thunder
Starting at 17th level, if you move through the air at least 20 feet toward a target and then hit it with an unarmed strike before or immediately upon landing, you gain advantage on the attack roll. If you hit, your target takes an additional 10d8 damage and must make a Strength saving throw or fall prone. This works only on one attack if you go for your second attack in the same round.
Bonus proficiencies:
- When you choose this monastic tradition at 3rd level, when making a skill check involving dance related performance the wisdom or dexterity mod is allowed to be used instead of charisma (Not all performance checks, only dance).
- Proficiency for dance related performance checks (Not all performance checks, only dance).
