Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Way of the Combo Master teaches its students to attack at the right moment, and pack a punch doing so. Monks of the Way of the Combo Master follow a tradition that values patience and calmness. These monks are focused and precise. Some monasteries focus on chaining the most attacks, while some focus on striking at the right time. Regardless of their methods, the heads of these monasteries expect the unquestioning obedience of their students.

Bonus Proficiencies

Wise Strike

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your patience and precision allow you to punish your opponent for missing hits.
When a melee attack that targets you misses, as a reaction, you can spend 1 ki point to make an unarmed strike against the origin of the attack. You can spend additional ki points up to your dexterity modifier make multiple attacks. For each ki point spent, you can make 1 additional attack. These attacks use your Wisdom modifier for attack and damage rolls.

When you reach 6th level with this tradition, you can focus your attacks on a single target to hit more effectively.
For each successive hit you make against a single target with an unarmed strike, you deal extra bludgeoning damage equal to half your Wisdom modifier (rounded up).
This damage can stack up to three times your Wisdom modifier (at least 1 damage).
The combo breaks if you:

  • Miss an attack
  • Target another creature with an unarmed strike
  • Are incapacitated or restrained
  • Get hit by an attack from that target

for each 3 additional ki points you spend, you can make 2 more unarmed attacks as part of the bonus action. Make an attack roll for each strike, separately.
For this feature to work, all of the attacks made in this turn have to target a single creature.
Additionally, you gain proficiency in the Sleight of Hand skill if you don't already have it.

Combo Master

At 17th level, you become a master of the combo techniques and have more control over each and every one of your attacks, and your precision and patience become exceptional.
You now gain the following benefits:

  • You can now spend an amount of ki points up to double your dexterity modifier when using Wise Strike
  • You can break a combo as a free action on your turn. Additionally, when your combo breaks, the target has to make a Dexterity Saving throw or fall prone.
  • Swarm of Fists costs now 2 ki points per 2 attacks, instead of 3.
  • You have advantage on investigation and insight checks that rely on minor movements, such as a twitching eye, or a gear's movement.
