Base Class: Monk
The monasteries of Pentavium host many secrets and techniques passed along generations of monks. Those who learned curate and enhance such technique over and over again- creating a religious tide of crimson power. This artform's creation is the pinnacle of destruction- the meaning of War. In war, there are no longer civilians and nobility- there is no longer society and government- there is only violence. The ultimate tide of red, and the permeating stench of scarlet steel.
Energy Siphon
Beginning at 3rd level, your monastic lifestyle and technique have taught you how to endure grueling combat by siphoning the energy out of your targets by lethal power. The energy is then pulsed through your body and converted into an abundance of Ki. Now, On a critical hit using a Monk weapon or an Unarmed Strike, you regenerate 1 Ki Point.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with a poisoner's kit. Being able to defeat or subdue enemies faster is a useful and powerful strategy, and poison makes the ultimate stunning agent- or perhaps, more then just stunning, killing.
Taste of Blood
When you reach level 6, you can channel your energy into an even more effective strike. As a bonus action before knowing the results of an attack, you can expend a Ki point to add 1d4 to the final value. If this attack hits, you can add 1d6 bonus damage. This effect is increased if Slashing damage was dealt to the target on the previous turn, increasing the original 1d4 to a 1d6.
Scarlet Slaughter
Starting at 11th level, a vile lust for massacre starts to set in mentally. From this point on, you gain these benefits:
- Your Unarmed Strikes now deal slashing damage.
- Your attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
- When an enemy enters your attack range, as a reaction you can expend 2 Ki points and attack with an Unarmed Strike.
Violent Bloom
Starting at 17th level, your now unstable lust for slaughter is a catalyst that can help you surpass the phenomenon known as death. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can expend 4 Ki point to stay conscious. If you are to die due to failing death saving throws, you only die if you are still at 0 hit points and you no longer have any Ki points.
