Lightning Turtles are deceptive in their movements and now, so are you. The Way of Lighting Turtle allows you to go from smooth slow movements to lightning quick attacks with decisive agility

Lightning Quick Reflexes

Beginning when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, You learn to use the natural ki in your body to pulse lightning through your nerves, this increases the speed gained from Unarmored Movement to twice the amount shown on the Monk table. When you use your Unarmored Movement to move faster than a normal member of your race, small bolts of harmless lightning flicker around your body. Until the start of your next turn, you shed dim light in a 10 foot radius and have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

In addition, you can spend 1 ki point to gain the following benefits for 1 minute.

  • Your flurry of blows now has 3 attacks instead of 2.
  • Your unarmed strike now deals extra thunder damage equal to your wisdom modifier
  • When using your flurry of blows, if 2 strikes hit the same target, they are paralyzed until the start of your next turn.
  • You gain the ability to run on vertical surfaces, however you cannot end your turn there.
    • At 9th level this ability is enhanced so that you can run safely on the ceiling although you still cannot end your turn there.

Charge

At 6th level, you've learned to become patient, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, ensuring to conserve your energy by not moving for a turn, on the following turn your base movement speed is doubled, this effect can not stack. Due to this conservative state you now gain attacks of opportunity when an enemy first moves within melee range.

Additionally, if you have not moved nor initiated an attack this turn you regain 1 ki point.

Discharge

Beginning at 6th level, you’ve honed the affinity your ki displayed for lightning so much that you now can become one with the strike, increasing your base movement by 10ft.

On your turn, you can expend your movement to teleport to another location by transforming into a lightning bolt, doing this causes a loud echoing boom that can be heard from 300ft away.

Additionally as a bonus action you can spend 1 Ki point to cloak yourself in lightning for 1+(DEX) turn(s) or until you dispel it giving you enhanced speed and reflexes.

  • You gain a number of reactions equal to your dexterity modifier.
  • On your turn, you can spend 10ft of movement to make an additional unarmed strike on an enemy

Lightning Channeling

Starting at 11th level, you gain the ability to absorb any lightning damage and either heal that much damage or use that damage to deal bonus lightning damage for your next attack. Additionally, Deflect Missiles is now effective against direct magic attacks.

Heart Strike

Upon reaching 17th level, you’ve gained the knowledge to send your lightning through the heart of a creature with the smallest of touches, when you hit a creature with a melee attack, you can choose to spend 3 ki points to send a massive surge of lightning through a creatures heart, dealing an additional 2d8 thunder damage, once they have been effect by this attack the following effects apply.

  • The creature gains a vulnerability to thunder damage.
  • The creature has a disadvantage on saving throws until the end of your next turn.
