Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians who practice ritual traditions may find that their rage has the same trance-like qualities as the state that they perform rituals in. This allows them to fuse the arts of war and ritual together, dancing through combat in a shamanic fury that draws magic spirits to their aid.
These barbarians, known as battle shamans, are able to channel powerful magical effects by conjuring spirits to perform spellcasting even while they rage. As a battle shaman, the battlefield is a sacred space to commune with your ancestors and even with creation itself.
Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd level, you augment your physical might with the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the druid spell list.
Cantrips
You learn two cantrips of your choice from the druid spell list. You learn an additional druid cantrip of your choice at 10th level.
Spell Slots
The Battle Shaman Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your druid spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell entangle and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast entangle using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher
You know three 1st-level druid spells of your choice, two of which you must choose from the conjuration, divination, and transmutation spells on the druid spell list.
The Spells Known column of the Battle Shaman Spellcasting table shows when you learn more druid spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be a conjuration, divination, or transmutation spell of your choice, and must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.
The spells you learn at 8th, 14th, and 20th level can come from any school of magic.
Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the druid spells you know with another spell of your choice from the druid spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots, and it must be a conjuration, divination, or transmutation spell, unless you’re replacing the spell you gained at 3rd, 8th, 14th, or 20th level from any school of magic.
Spellcasting Ability
Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your druid spells, since you learn your spells through your connection to nature and the spirits. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a druid spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
Ritual Casting
You can cast a druid spell that you know as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag.
Spellcasting Focus
You can use a druidic focus as a spellcasting focus for your druid spells.

Ritual Warrior
Also at 3rd level, you learn Druidic, the secret language of druids. You can speak the language and use it to leave hidden messages. You and others who know Druidic automatically spot such a message. Others spot the message’s presence with a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check but can’t decipher it without magic.
In addition, you can use a melee weapon that you are proficient with as a druidic focus. Most battle shamans avoid using metal weapons for this purpose, preferring instead to use weapons made of bone, wood, or stone.
Finally, while you are raging, you can still maintain concentration on spells from this subclass and you can cast its cantrips. You can expend a spell slot as a bonus action while you're raging to regain hit points equal to 1d6 for each expended slot level plus your Constitution modifier (minimum 1 hit point). Once during each of your rages, you can cast a spell of 1st-level or higher from this subclass, ignoring the restriction on casting spells while raging.
Spiritual Rage
At 6th level, your rage evolves into a spiritual delirium, a rage-trance that allows you to channel the power of the spirits and fight at the same time.
While you're raging, you add your Wisdom modifier (minimum +1) to your Constitution saving throws made to maintain concentration on a spell. In addition, your rage doesn't end early at the end of your turn if you cast a spell of 1st-level or higher during that turn.
Elemental Blessing
Starting at 10th level, elemental spirits empower you in your rage. When you enter your rage, you can expend a spell slot of 2nd-level or higher and choose either acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder damage to gain resistance to that damage type until your rage ends.
Primal Champion
At 14th level, your connection with the spirits that you channel becomes so ingrained within you that you reach a new pinnacle of shamanism. In battle, you are warrior and dancer, priest and executioner.
You can cast spells from this subclass an unlimited number of times while you are raging, instead of only once per rage. In addition, when you use a bonus action to enter your rage, you can also cast a druid spell that normally takes an action or bonus action to cast as part of the same bonus action you use to rage.
