Monk
Base Class: Monk

With the Way of the Fist monks learn to be a badass. The basic rules of striking first, striking hard, and showing no mercy fuel the rage within these monks. Rather than being cool, calm, and collected these monks use power, offense, and fear to berate their enemies with aggression. After all the best defense is more offense. Way of the Fist monks know they are strongest when they believe in each other and themselves and can vary in strength depending how strong they think they are.

The teachings of the Way of the Fist once were used mainly by military organizations, but a strong yet ruthless leader took these teachings into a full way of life. It was a way of combat long thought to have died out but a follower who was once thought to have been a master of this style found himself teaching a young student of his martial art and it quickly spread to another generation of people learning the power that was inside them.

Strike First

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you begin to harness the offensive prowess of your bodily capabilities. You add your Wisdom modifier to your initiative rolls. Also on the first round of combat when you use only unarmed strikes as a part of your attack action you may use one additional ki point when you use your Flurry of Blows to gain one of the following effects:

  • When one of your Flurry of Blows hits a target the hit is treated as a critical hit if the target has not taken a turn yet.
  • As a part of your Flurry of Blows you may make a third unarmed strike.
  • Creatures you hit with your Flurry of Blows must make a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Fear Does Not Exist

At 6th level, your confidence and headstrong ways are at the forefront of your mind to keep you focused and can even be used as a weapon. You gain proficiency in the intimidation skill, if you are already proficient you gain expertise in this skill. You also have advantage when rolling a save against an effect that would frighten or charm you.

Strike Hard

Beginning at 11th level, the power of your unarmed strikes are unmatched by any other. When you attack a creature with one of your unarmed strikes you may pay 1 ki point to roll an additional martial arts die on that hit, plus an additional martial arts die for each additional ki point used, to a maximum of 5 total ki points. Or you may pay 2 ki total to have all your unarmed strikes for the round roll an additional martial arts die for damage.

No Mercy

At 17th level, your ferocity in combat is unmatched and anytime someone crosses you it seems you're dying for a fight. If a creature is not at full health you have advantage when you attack them with unarmed strikes. Also, when a creature stands up from prone within your melee range you may make an opportunity attack against them using your reaction.
