Monk
Base Class: Monk

Those who follow the Way of the Meteorite engage in studies of astrology and astronomy, using the movement and flow of heavenly bodies to inspire their view of life. These monks will generally look at instances and events as they relate to the greater movement of the universe.

Star Gazer

When you take this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Navigator's Tools

Heavenly Leap

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells.

As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast Jump (targeting yourself) without providing material components.

Additionally, on your turn, if you use your movement speed to make a High Jump (see Player's Handbook page 182), as a bonus action you may choose a creature which is within a cone from your highest point and make an unarmed strike against the creature. Additionally, if the attack hits you can impose one of the following effects instead of rolling damage:

  • The creature must make a Dexterity saving throw or be stunned until the beginning of its next turn.
  • The creature must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save you may push the creature away from you a distance up to half the max height of your jump.

Planetary Deflect

Starting at 6th level, you may now treat large and heavy projectiles within your carrying capacity (such as a cannonballs, boulders, or thrown creatures) the same as smaller ammunition when using the Deflect Missiles feature.

Fierce Impact

Starting at 11th level, when you fall to a surface, all creatures within a 10 ft sphere of where you hit must make a Dexterity saving throw. They take damage equal to your normal fall damage on a failed save and half as much on a successful one. Effects that would reduce your fall damage (such as the Slow Fall feature or magical items) only reduce the damage you would take, and not the area of effect damage.

Shooting Star

Also at 11th level, you can now spend 5 ki points to cast Dimension Door

Meteor Core

You have learned to use your ki to harden your body like adamantine. Starting at 17th level, you can spend 7 ki points to reinforce your exterior 1 minute. During this time, you are subjected to the following effects:

  • You gain +2 to your AC
  • Your unarmed strikes deal +1 damage
  • Your movement speed is halved
  • Critical hits against you count as normal hits
  • Damage from falling is reduced to 0.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before using it again.
