Monk
Base Class: Monk

Although learning martial arts has crafted their body and mind to be exceptionally quick and nimble, a monk must learn restraint and patience in order to perfectly execute their strategies.

Monks of the Patient Soul practice the perfect combination of attacks and defenses, preferring to wait than to recklessly hit their opponents. They know that patience equals perfect execution.

Enhanced Defense

Beginning at 3rd level when choosing this tradition, you learn how to better defense yourself in combat.

When you take the Dodge action or use the Patient Defense feature, you gain a bonus to your AC equals to one roll of your Martial Arts Die until the start of your next turn. Also while you are Dodging (taking the Dodge action or using the Patient Defense feature), you have advantage on Saving Throws against being pushed, grappled, restrained, or knocked prone until the start of your next turn. Furthermore, after taking the Dodge action or use the Patient Defense feature, you can then spend 1 ki point to even further enhance your defense, giving yourself advantage on Saving Throws against being stunned or paralyzed.

Concentrated Attack

Also at level 3, you learn to concentrate your power to deliver a more accurate and devastating blow to your enemy. Once per turn when you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike or a monk weapon, you can choose to nullify the damage to give a +2 bonus to the attack roll on your next Unarmed Attack. You gain a bonus to the damage equals to three rolls of your Martial Arts Die if it hits, and is considered a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20.

The Ticking Bomb

The art of Patience makes you a great defender and an even deadlier attacker. Starting at level 6, when you end your turn without dealing any damage to your enemy, the damage of your next Unarmed Strike or monk weapon attack that you do on Your Turn will increase by 3d6 + your Wisdom Modifier. This damage will keep increasing by 3d6 for each subsequent turn you do not deal damage to your enemy to a maximum of 12d6 damage. This feature will only be in effect if you attack a hostile creature within a span of one minute after you end your turn without dealing any damage to your enemy. This feature also cannot be used at the first round of combat.

When you have 15 levels of Monk, the damage die becomes 1d8 instead of 1d6.

Patient Approach

Also at level 6, by learning the art of Patience, you know there are other ways to dominate your enemies in combat rather than just hitting them directly. You can add your Dexterity Modifier when you make any Strength (Athletics) checks to Grapple or Shove someone.

Patient Awareness

Starting at 11th level, the art of patience has taught you to be more in tune and aware with your surrounding. You have advantage on perception and stealth checks. You also cannot be surprised while you are conscious.

The Patient One

You have perfected the art of Patience.

At level 17, you no longer need to spend any ki points to use the Patient Defense feature. On top of that, when you use the Enhanced Defense feature, instead of spending 1 ki point, you can spend 2 ki points to gain temporary hit points equal to 4d10 plus your Wisdom modifier, immunity to being grappled, restrained, knocked prone, stunned or paralyzed. The temporary hit points and the immunities granted only last until the start of your next turn.

Also, when you use your Concentrated Attack feature, the bonus to the attack roll becomes +4 instead of +2.

Furthermore, If you are hit by a melee attack caused by a hostile creature while you are Dodging (taking the Dodge action or using the Patient Defense feature), you can use your reaction, spending 2 ki points to focus your ki and force the attacker to make a constitution saving throw against your Ki Save DC, or take force damage equal to 4d10 plus your Wisdom Modifier and be stunned until the end of the creature's turn. The creature can make another constitution saving throw at the end of its turn to break out from the Stunned condition.

If the creature succeeds, it takes half the damage and is not stunned.
