You lived a quiet life for the most part, a simple boy or girl next door, working away at your farm or schoolwork, waiting for your chance to go on your big adventure. Then, something...strange begins happening in your town. The town's local power couple is found as little more than a blood smear at the local harbor. A childhood friend's corpse is hanging from the archway. And you swear, despite what the 'adults' (or simply authority) say, you know these aren't one-off occurrences. Of course, though, by the time anyone's willing to listen, its too late, and anarchy is about to overtake your quiet town.
Your slasher- be it monster or man- takes down your friends one by one, until you are all that remains. Isolated and alone, it's up to you to put a stop to the horror that haunts your humble home.
And you do. Through luck, wit, and a few gratuitous panty shots, you find yourself the soul survivor of the slaughter, victorious over your slasher.
What comes next is up to you. Do you fortify to protect what little is left? Do you attempt to go back to normal life, but find yourself haunted by the fear of its return? Or, maybe, you decide its time for the hunter to become the prey?
- Skill Proficiencies: Of course, it takes skills to face down death and make it out alive. Because of that, take 2 skills between; Intimidation, Investigation, Perception, or Survival
- Tool Proficiencies: To take down a slasher, one's going to need some tools. So chose between;
Leatherworkers (I'm sorry the pun is too good), Alchemist Supplies or Poisoner's Kit (For all your Arson or Arsenic Needs), Herbalism Kit (For your Cabin in the Woods Flavoring), or Thieves Tools.
You also of course get proficiency in a weapon, if you used one to take down your slasher. If not, gain proficiency in a second kit closest resembling how you took them down (IE, Mason's Tools if you used a Hammer)
- Languages: Choose two, one of which is exotic; or simply the language of your monster. (Abyssal, Celestial, Deep Speech, Draconic, Infernal, Primordial, Sylvan, or Undercommon)
- Equipment: Your weapon against the slasher (be it matches for setting them on fire, shards from the vase you smashed them with, rope, a good old fashioned axe), a token of a fallen friend, a Set of Common Clothes, and 10 GP.
Saying you work best under pressure is a massive understatement. You work best under threat of death. When a situation is at its most dire (this can be defined as under 20% HP, down to 2 spells slots, or simply a particularly troubling situation. Work with your DM to decide specific boundaries) you gain the advantage. Each turn you are allowed to roll a D20 to discover a major weakness. In order to find it, the first round, you would have to roll a 20, second roll, a 19 or 20, third round, an 18, 19, or 20, ect, moving down until a minimum of 10. If the weakness is found, you, to DM's discretion, commit a critical attack.
(IE, once you are down to 20 percent health, a critical hit would require a Nat20 on the first round, a Nat20 or 19 on the second, ect.)

Pain means nothing under the affect of adrenaline...or when backed into a corner by a giant terrifying roach alien. Because of that, you are less likely to even notice the damage done to you. When under 20% of your health, get a +5 to your AC.
Alternative: A +5 to your Evasion.

The personality traits are the best thing i have seen in so long 🤣
