Can anyone explain to me how to apply this Homebrew 2024 Background to a Player Character on DDB?
I don't see Homebrew Backgrounds as a choice in the dropdown menu of the Character Editor. I'm probably just blind, but if you can take pity on me and explain exactly where to go and what to click on to apply this, I would be grateful.
The very idea that this is some kind of ultra complex science or engineering feat to enable what, on the surface, appears to be the most fundamental change to the core class creation system (THAT EXISTS ELSEWHERE) is frankly embarrassing. This is the kind of thing that should literally be the LEAD FIELD in the editor (attribute modification selection) given the change to the game rules, and instead it simply doesn't exist.
It's a failure in both product management and engineering for them to not even include messaging within the feature suggesting "we know its critical and we're working on it." But i guess thinking about users and adding a fixed text field conveying that- you know, the most simplistic possible thing- is too complex or time-consuming
So, are we still at the point where if we want to use a homebrew species and the custom background the ASI will show up twice, in two different places? No way around this other than to ignore one of the places?
As a new player it is ridiculous that to utilise this they want a subscription. It is very poor that you buy a book and then the system doesn't even let you make the character that you want.

Once homebrew is enabled on the first screen for char customizations, it will show up on the very bottom of backgrounds
This is what I was missing! Thanks!
