Base Class: Monk
Through rituals and training you have learned to bend earth to your will. Earth is the element of substance. The people who follow this monastic tradition are diverse, strong, and enduring. The key to bending earth involves waiting and listening for the right moment to strike and, when that moment comes, acting decisively. In other words, monks generally endure their enemies' attacks until the right opportunity to counterattack reveals itself.
Elemental Novice
-
If you target an area of loose earth, you can instantaneously excavate it, move it along the ground, and deposit it up to 5 feet away. This movement doesn’t have enough force to cause damage.
-
You cause shapes, colors, or both to appear on the dirt or stone, spelling out words, creating images, or shaping patterns. The changes last for 1 hour.
-
If the dirt or stone you target is on the ground, you cause it to become difficult terrain. Alternatively, you can cause the ground to become normal terrain if it is already difficult terrain. This change lasts for 1 hour.
-
You can lift an amount of earth into the air or lift something supported by said earth equal to how much you can physically lift (weight in pounds up to double your carrying capacity or 30 times your strength score).
When you reach 6th level you can choose earth within 80 feet and fits within a 10-foot cube, at 11th level you can choose earth within 100 feet and fits within a 20-foot cube, and at 17th level you can choose earth within 120 feet and fits within a 40-foot cube.
Casting Elemental Spells
Earth Strike
Elemental Adept
Earthen Armor
Starting at 6th level, you learn to bring rocks, dust, pebbles, or crystals around you and mold them to fit your body and create something similar to armor. As a bonus action you can spend 4 ki points to increase your unarmored defense by 3 and gain resistance to fire damage for 1 minute. However, while surrounded by your earth armor you are unable to use your unarmored movement.
Elemental Expert
Beginning at 11th level, you can also cast the following spells for 4 ki each: Erupting Earth, Meld Into Stone, and Wall of Sand.
Seismic Sense
You have become accomplished in the ways waiting for the right moment to strike. Starting at 11th level, you gain tremorsense out to a range of 30 feet, and with that you also gain advantage on Wisdom(Insight) check on creatures within 30 feet. As a reaction when you are about to be hit by a melee attack you can impose disadvantage on the roll. If the attack misses you can then spend 1 ki and make an Attack on the source of the melee attack.
Elemental Grand Master
Beginning at 17th level you can cast Stone Shape for 5 ki and cast Transmute Rock and Wall of Stone for 6 ki. You also gain the ability to cast Move Earth once per long rest.
Earth Dominion
You have learned the finesse of controlling the tiniest fragments of earth found in other forms of matter. You learn to control impenetrable metal or scorching lava.
Lava Supremacy
Your Earth Strike deals an extra 1d10 fire damage. As an action you can spend 2 ki to turn an area of earth into lava. This area can consist of up to four 5-foot squares of earth. A creature takes 6d10 fire damage when it enters lava for the first time on a turn or when it ends its turn there.
Metal Manipulation
You learn how to bend nonmagical metal to you will. Your earth strike can use 0.5 cubic feet of metal instead of a cubic foot of earth. When you have your earthen armor equipped you can use a bonus action and spend 4 ki to become resistant to all forms of damage except psychic damage.
