Base Class: Monk
Way of the Soaring Wind
Katana Mastery
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, Katanas are considered monk weapons. All Monk feats attached to unarmed attacks can be used with a Katana. You can use a fast Katana slash as a Bonus Action instead of an unarmed strike, dealing Martial Arts damage as described in the Monk table.
Ancestral Connection
Also at the 3rd level, you can use your Katana to channel your Ki and cast the following spells. The Ki point cost is equivalent to the spell level being cast. The spell can only be cast at a level equal or lower then the level of the greatest spell known.

Ex.: When casting Flaming Strike, at level class level 6 you can spend up to 2 Ki Points, to cast Flaming Strike as a level 2 spell.
Iaijustu
At 6th level, you gain the ability to quickly draw your weapon to perform an attack. This move can be done with an Action or Bonus Action as follows:
- Action: Recieve advantage for an Attack or Weapon Spell;
- Bonus Action: Can perform any Attack or Weapon Spell that would normally require an Action.
The Iaijutsu can only be used with a spell or attack that strikes an enemy. After used, you need to sheathe your Katana using a Bonus Action to regain this ability.
Sensory Supression
Beginning at 11th level, you can supress the Ki in a specific region of your body and redirect it somewhere else, enhancing your senses while hindering the region with no Ki. You can use this ability once per short rest. Dispelling this effect is instant and takes no actions.
For every region supressed you get a supression point. If one point is used, the benefited region is granted advantage on rolls related to it. If two or more points are used, the benefited region is granted advantage and can perform enhanced actions. The effectiveness is based on the number of points used.
Your supression points and related actions/senses are:
- Eyes: Vision, perception, investigation
- Ears: Hearing, ecolocation, perception (for sounds)
- Mouth and nose: Speaking, shouting, smelling
- Arms and hands: Attacking, using objects, touch
- Legs: Moving, jumping, carrying
- Torso: General health (cannot be supressed)
Ex.: Supressing your eyes and mouth to enhance your ears gives makes you blind and mute, but enables you distinguish any sound within 90 feet and know the location of enemies in a thick fog.
Shinigami Aspect
At 17th level, you gain the ability to spend 3 ki points to assume the aspect of a God of Death as an Action. For the duration, you emanate a powerful aura of despair. Any creatures that can see you must make a Charisma saving throw. If it fails, it becomes Frightened. If a creature is within 5 feet and fails the saving throw, it becomes Stunned. If you are looking directly to the creature the DC is increased by 5.
The aura can only be used once on a creature and lasts until you get hit.
