Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Murdering Sword focus on violence as a means to an end goal for a fight. They then use this knowledge to guide their understanding of martial arts, yielding a deadly fighting style. Legend has it that the original family that developed this fighting style once held a lethal weapon as a sacred heirloom. The weapon was capable of cutting through any material with exact precision.

Mountains Don’t Give Back

Starting at 3 level, choose two types of melee weapons. Each of these weapons can be any simple or martial weapon that lacks the heavy and special properties. Weapons of the chosen types are monk weapons for you. You gain proficiency with them and the insight skill.

Blade Mode

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, time flows differently for you in the heat of battle. You can fixate on and target a specific body part of the enemy to expose a weakness. Before you make a melee weapon attack roll, you can spend 1 ki point to gain an additional effect if that attack hits:

·         Eyes. It must make a Constitution saving throw or have disadvantage of attack rolls and perception checks until the start of your next turn.

·         Legs. Its speed is reduced to zero until the start of your next turn.

·         Hands. It must make a Strength saving throw or one item is dropped 10 feet away.

The Only Thing I Know

At 6th level, using an action, you can learn certain information about a creature’s capabilities compared to your own. If the creature makes a weapon attack against you, you can use a reaction instead. The DM tells you if the creature is your equal, superior, or inferior in regard to two of the following characteristics of your choice:

·         Strength score

·         Dexterity score

·         Wisdom  score

·         Armor Class

·         Total class levels (if any)

·         Monk class levels (if any)

Son of Famous Power

Starting at 11th level, your skill with a blade and extraordinary reflexes give rise to a devastating and lightning fast attack. When a creature moves within 10 feet of you, you can use a reaction and spend 2 Ki points to move 5 feet closer to it and make a melee weapon attack. This attack deals an additional 2d10 damage of the weapons type and you can activate one of your Blade mode effects (without spending ki points) if the attack hits.

If you haven’t taken a turn in combat yet, you can activate this feature without spending any Ki points.

The Cold Southern Wind

Beginning at 17th level, you can replace your extra unarmed attacks granted by your flurry of blows with melee weapon attacks instead. Additionally, the effects of your blade mode feature severe the body part on a critical hit and become permanent until the part is reattached.
