Base Class: Monk
Monks who follow the Way of the Void, often called Void Monks, are monks who have established a connection to the Negative Energy Plane, either through teachings or some supernatural means. These monks often seem otherworldly and almost empty; and not many monasteries are known to exist for this tradition. This is due to the presence of multiple Void Monks are known to cause unexpected and unforeseen phenomena. There has even been reported cases of craters that were initially thought to have been caused by meteor strikes later found out to be actually caused by one too many Void Monks coming into close proximity.
Attractive Strike
3rd-level Way of the Void feature
You begin to form a connection to the Negative Energy Plane, allowing you to create an instantaneous opening to the Negative Energy Plane that accelerates your strike and your target towards each other as you attack your target.
When you hit a creature with a melee monk weapon or an unarmed strike, you can spend 2 ki points to create a vacuuming portal on the point of contact. You deal additional damage equal to a roll of your martial arts die, but you also take force damage equal to half the additional damage rounded down. This damage cannot be resisted/reduced by any means. The extra damage from this feature is doubled on a critical hit, but so is the damage that you take.
Veil of Chaos
6th-level Way of the Void feature
As you further the connection to the Negative Energy Plane, you gain the ability to create a rift as a surface rather than a point. You are able to create a thin veil of a dimensional rift around you that connects to the Negative Energy Plane. By spending 4 ki points, you can open a rift that lasts until the start of your next turn as a bonus action.
Due to the rift accelerating any strikes near you, all attacks against you have advantage, but you gain the effects of Attractive Strike for all of your attacks (You are able to stack the Attractive Strike feature with this feature). While the veil is active, all damage you receive is reduced by your monk level as it gets drawn into the rift.
Gravity Sink
11th-level Way of the Void feature
You have learned to use your own body as the tether to the Negative Energy Plane to open a more stable rift. As an action, you can open a rift that is centered at your location. The rift lasts until the start of your next turn.
All creatures within 10ft of you cannot move away from you, and all creatures within 30ft of you must spend an extra foot of movement for every foot it moves. However, while this feature is active, double the damage of any ranged attacks that hit you.
Furthermore, any unattended objects within the area flies towards you in a straight line, dealing damage equal to a roll of your martial arts die if a creature is in the way unless it succeeds on a Dexterity saving throw. If the projectile is not stopped by hitting another creature, you take the damage as if you failed the save. The damage type is either bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing, whichever is suitable for the item.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, you regain all expended use when you finish a long rest.
Absolute Horizon
17th-level Way of the Void feature
By establishing and reinforcing your connection to the Negative Energy Plane, you can cascade the opening that you form from your Attractive Strike. When you hit and apply the Attractive Strike feature on the same target 3 times in a single turn, the target must make a Charisma saving throw and a Constitution saving throw. If the creature fails either of these saves, you can spend 6 ki point to tear open the fabric of space to transport the creature to the Negative Energy Plane for 1 minute.
While the creature is in the negative energy plane, the creature is blinded, deafened, and cannot cast a spell with verbal components to it. The creature also takes 4d10 force damage at the beginning of each of its turns. At the end of its turn, it can reattempt the two saves, and if it succeeds both, the creature returns early. The creature also returns early if you fall unconscious or die. When returning, the creature reappears where it originally was, and if that spot is occupied, it appears in the closest available spot. If the creature dies while it is in the Negative Energy Plane, the creature is lost in the Negative Energy Plane forever.
