Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Moon follow the ancient tradition of studying the cycles of the moon. These monks often adorn themselves with tattoos of lunar symbols and moons, believing that their body is a conduit for lunar energy. Monks of this tradition learn how to best operate in the dark and dazzle their enemies with lunar power.

Lunar Arts

Beginning at 3rd level, you have unlocked special ki techniques that harness the power of the moon. You can spend a number of ki points to perform one of the following abilities. If the ability allows you to cast a spell, you cast it without requiring material components:

Full Moon. You can spend 2 ki points to cast the moonbeam spell. When you do so, the beam fills a 5 foot cube rather than a 5 foot radius. On your subsequent turns, if you cast the spell in this way, you may move the beam as an action as normal, or as a bonus action by spending 1 ki point. You can spend additional ki points to cast moonbeam as a higher-level spell. Each additional ki point you spend increases the spell's level by 1. The maximum number of ki points (2 plus any additional points) that you can spend on the casting of the spell equals half your monk level, rounded up (and cannot exceed 9).

New Moon. You can spend 1 ki point to cast the invisibility spell. When you do so, the spell has a range of self.

Additionally, you gain advantage on Nature and Survival checks related to the moon or night time.

Lunar Infusion

At 6th level, the magic of the moon flows through you, granting you the following benefits:

Luminous Body. You gain resistance to radiant damage.

Tidal Pull. You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 30 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Wisdom modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is radiant, and its damage die is equal to your martial arts die.  This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table. If this attack hits an enemy that is Huge or smaller, you may pull the enemy 10 feet towards you. You may only use this attack option once per turn.

Lunar Ascension

At 11th level, your attunement with lunar energy is so powerful that it can blind your foes.

Lunar Beam. As an action, you can spend 4 ki points to project a beam of lunar energy at one creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. Shapechangers have disadvantage on this saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 6d8 radiant damage and is blinded for 1 minute. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and is not blinded.

Unrelenting Tide. You are no longer limited to using the additional attack option from Tidal Pull once per turn.

Two Moon Technique

At 17th level, you have found a way to amplify the power of the moon even further. When you cast moonbeam using the Full Moon ability, you can place two beams instead of one once per long rest. When using an action or bonus action to control them, you may still only move one beam at a time.
