Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Revolution practice an art born from the hope of an oppressed people. Many times throughout history, groups of people have found themselves living under the unimaginable cruelty of a warlord or tyrant. Stripped of weapons and magic, all hope seems lost. However, when their ruling empire began to fray, and the common folk see an opportunity for a revolution, people both young and old train their bodies, hands, and feet in martial arts. Through this training the revolutionary fighters discover Ki; the element that flows through living bodies. Using their martial arts and mastery of Ki, these unarmed resistance fighters buck their overlords and become the first Way of the Revolution monks.

Those who follow the Way of the Revolution value virtues such as friendship, unity, freedom, and true justice. It is not uncommon for Way of the Revolution monks to question authority or the objective morality of what is legal or not. In addition to their virtues Way of the Revolution monks value bodily strength and martial skill; seeing it as a necessary component of securing and maintaining freedom, peace, and fair treatment of all living peoples.

People's Champion

At level 3, you gain proficiency in Performance and Persuasion

In addition, as an action, you may spend 1 ki point to end the effects of the Stunned, Paralyzed, Unconscious, or Petrified condition on yourself, or a friendly creature that you can touch.

Resistance Fighter

At level 6 you are considered adept at facing enemies wielding weapons. You gain the following benefits:

Disarm. When you make an unarmed attack, you can spend 1 ki point to attempt to disarm the target, forcing it to drop one item of your choice that it’s holding. Add your martial arts die to the attack’s damage roll, and the target must make a Strength saving throw against that value. On a failed save, it drops the object you choose. The object lands at its feet.

Ignore Pain. When a creature deals slashing or piercing damage to you, you may spend 2 ki points to, as a reaction, reduce that damage by half.

Furious Blows

At level 11 you are able to harness the anger you feel towards people and nations who would subjugate others, focusing it into a precision tool - rather than a blind battle-rage to defeat your opposition. You gain the following benefits:

Unrelenting Strikes. Your unarmed attacks deal 2d10 damage. Your martial arts die, for the purposes of rolls outside of unarmed attacks, remains as they would be normally. Refer to the monk class table to determine what your martial arts die is at your level.

Counter Punch. When a creature attempts to and fails to make a melee attack against you, you can, as a reaction, spend one ki point to make one unarmed attack against that creature.

Fight for your Life

At the 17th level you harness your spirit to fight desperately; protecting yourselves or others past the point of injury. You gain the following benefits:

Stalwart Revolutionary. Every time you spend a ki point, you regain hit points equal to 5 + your Wisdom modifier. You do not gain this benefit if you have 0 hit points, nor do you gain additional / temporary hit points if you have full hit points. When using multiple ki points, regain hit points equal to 5 + your Wisdom modifier times the amount of ki points spent.

Compassion. Allies within 10 feet of you when you spend a ki point(s) gain temporary hit points equal to the amount of hit points you regained. If you spend ki with full hit points, your allies do not receive any temporary hit points. Please remember that Temporary Hit Points do not stack.
