Base Class: Druid

Most common near elemental nodes or other locations where there are portals between the material plane and the elemental planes, the Circle of the Elemental Guardian channels these raw elemental forces to protect themselves and their allies. At higher levels these druids can temporarily invoke the appearance of the primal elemental titans. Elemental Guardians surround themselves with swirling elemental magic and can align themselves with different elemental planes.

Elemental Guardian Spells

At 3rd level, whenever you finish a Long Rest, choose one element of the ancient titans. Consult the table below that corresponds to the chosen type; you have the spells listed for your Druid level and lower prepared. You can cast one of these spells once without expending a spellslot and without requiring any material components, once you have cast a spell in this way you cannot cast it in this way again until you finish a long rest.

Elemental Barrier

At 2rd level, as a Magic action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape to wreath yourself with swirling clouds of one element of your choice which protect you from harm. This Elemental Barrier has hit points equal to 3-times your druid level and resistance to slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage. In addition it gains one additional benefit depending on which element it is made of:

Fire: The barrier has resistance to fire and poison damage.
Air: The barrier imposes disadvantage on ranged weapon attacks.
Water: The barrier has resistance to cold and lightning damage.
Earth: The barrier grants you a +2 bonus to your armour class.

When you receive damage while your Elemental Barrier is active, the damage it dealt to the barrier not yourself. Apply the damage resistances of your barrier and subtract the damage dealt from the hit points of your barrier. If damage reduce your barrier to 0 hit points any remaining damage is dealt to you instead. The barrier lasts for 10 minutes or until it is reduced to 0 hit points or you choose to dismiss it (no action required).

Extended Barrier

Starting at 6th level, while your Elemental Barrier is active, you can use a reaction when you see a creature within 30 ft of you take damage, to extend the barrier to protect that creature by redirecting the damage they take onto the barrier.

Titanic Size

At 6ht level, you can channel the power of the Elemental Titans, as a Bonus Action you increase your size to Large or Huge, while you are larger than Medium you have Advantage on Strength checks and Saving Throws. You remain this size for 10 minutes or until you choose to dismiss it (no action required). You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier regaining all uses when you finish a long rest.

Adaptive Barrier

Starting at 10th level, you can use one use of your Wild Shape as a bonus action to restore your Elemental Barrier to full hit points as long as you don't change the elemental form of the barrier since your last use. In addition, you can change the element of your barrier as a reaction whenever your barrier takes damage, you apply the benefits of the new barrier to the triggering attack or damage.

Elemental Form

When you activate your Elemental Barrier, you also gain either a 50 ft fly speed (air, fire) or 50 ft burrow speed (earth) or 50 ft swim speed (water) and you do not need to eat, drink or breathe while your barrier is active. In addition, friendly creatures within 15 ft of you gain the same damage resistances as your Elemental Barrier.
