Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Ronin represents a warrior whose soul is bound to the art of battle, seamlessly fusing unarmed combat and swordsmanship into one discipline. These monks are wanderers driven by personal codes, fierce independence, and a relentless pursuit of mastery. For a Ronin, battle is more than survival; it is an expression of their spirit. Every strike embodies their devotion to perfection, and every conflict is an opportunity to honor the path of the warrior.
Master Swordsman
At level 3 ,your training has forged a harmony between martial weapons and your unarmed techniques. You gain the following benefits:
- You gain proficiency with all martial melee weapons.
- You can use your Martial Arts die in place of the weapon's normal damage die for any melee weapon you wield.
- When you take the Attack action, you can make a weapon attack instead of an unarmed strike as part of your Martial Arts bonus action.
- While wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon.
- When wielding a versatile or two-handed weapon and rolling a 1 or 2 on the damage die, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll.
- When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.
Enhanced Technic
At 3rd level ,your mastery of combat allows you to infuse additional potency into your ki-fueled techniques. When you use Flurry of Blows, Patient Defense, or Step of the Wind, you can spend an additional 2 ki points to activate one of the following enhanced effects:
- Unsheathe (Step of the Wind): You can move through other creatures’ spaces during your movement. Each creature whose space you pass through must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failed save, the creature takes damage equal to 4 times your Martial Arts die. On a success, they take half damage.
- Perfect Parry (Patient Defense): When a creature misses you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to immediately make an opportunity attack against them. If this attack hits, it is treated as a critical hit.
- Bloody Maelstrom (Flurry of Blows): You can replace your unarmed strikes with weapon attacks. Each successful hit deals an additional die of damage at the start of the target’s next turn.
Blade Bond
At 6th level ,you form a spiritual connection with your chosen weapons, making them extensions of your soul. Choose up to three melee weapons to bond with. You gain the following benefits:
- When you attune to a magical weapon, you can transfer its properties (such as bonuses to attack rolls or special effects) to one of your bonded weapons. The original weapon becomes nonmagical while its properties are transferred.
- When you attack with a bonded weapon, you can deal an extra die of damage (either your Martial Arts die or the weapon's damage die, whichever is higher). This increases to two extra dice at 17th level.
- You can summon a bonded weapon to your hand as a bonus action, provided it is on the same plane of existence.
- Your bonded weapons are considered magical for overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Joy of Combat
At 11th level ,your love for battle sharpens your focus when facing worthy opponents. When you face a creature with a Challenge Rating equal to or greater than your monk level, you gain a bonus to your attack rolls and damage rolls equal to half the difference between your level and the creature’s Challenge Rating (rounded down, minimum of +1). This benefit lasts until the creature dies or combat ends.
Soul Of Battel
At 17th level, when your spirit and body are tested, they resonate with unwavering resolve. When your hit points are at or below half your maximum, you gain the following benefits:
- You have advantage on all saving throws.
- When you take the Attack action, you can make one additional weapon or unarmed strike.
- Choose three damage types when you gain this feature. You gain resistance to those damage types.
- Once per turn, when you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can choose to deal maximum damage instead of rolling.
