Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Ronin is a formidable fighter who embodies the essence of independence and mastery, channeling the raw power of a masterless warrior. With unmatched skill and a keen tactical mind, a Ronin can turn the tide of battle with devastating strikes and cunning maneuvers. Enemies quickly learn they face an unstoppable force, one who fights not only for survival but for the unyielding freedom to forge their own destiny.

Lone Wanderer

Starting at 3rd level, your agility in combat enhances your ability to navigate the battlefield. As a bonus action on your turn, you can choose to either dash or disengage, allowing you to move with unmatched speed. Your movement speed also increases by 10 feet while you are not wearing armor.

Additionally, you can use any weapon as if it had the finesse property.

Ronin's Unarmored Defense

While you aren’t wearing any armor, your base Armor Class equals 10 plus your Dexterity and Constitution modifiers.

Deflect

Starting at 7th level, when an attack roll hits you and its damage includes Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing damage, you can reduce the attack’s total damage against you. The reduction equals 1d10 plus your Dexterity modifier. You can use this ability each turn up to the number of attacks you can make with one action.

Windwalker

Starting at 10th level, your movement speed increases by 10 feet, and you can move through difficult terrain without expending extra movement.

Additionally, you gain proficiency in Dexterity saving throws. If you already have this proficiency, you instead gain proficiency in Intelligence or Wisdom saving throws (your choice).

Spirit of the Ronin

Starting at 15th level, when you drop to 0 hit points, you can instead drop to 1 hit point and gain temporary hit points equal to your fighter level. While you have these temporary hit points, you gain resistance to all damage types. Additionally, you have advantage on death saving throws. You can use this ability once per short rest.

Fury of the Ronin

At 18th level, you can forgo all your attacks during your Attack action to make one devastating strike. This attack gains the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on the attack roll for this attack. Additionally, you can add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll twice.
  • Roll a number of damage dice equal to twice the number of damage die for your weapon times the number of attacks you could have made (including any extra attacks). For example, if you normally make 4 attacks with a two-handed longsword, you would roll 8d10.
  • If the attack roll is a natural 20, it counts as a critical hit, and you add additional damage as normal for a critical hit.
  • You can add your Dexterity modifier to the damage roll twice.
  • If this attack hits, you can choose one of the following effects to impose on the target:
    • The target is knocked prone.
    • The target has disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
    • You can push the target up to 10 feet away from you.

You can use this ability three times per short rest.
