Base Class: Ranger

At 3rd level, you swear your First Ideal, initiating a mystical bond with an honorspren to become a Knight Radiant. You gain access to the radiant powers of Gravitation and Adhesion and the ability to use Stormlight. As you swear new ideals you will be able to summon a living Shardblade, and eventually don a magical Shardplate forged from Windspren.

Level 3: The First Ideal

At Level 3 you swear the first ideal:

“Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.”

You form a Nahel bond with an Honorspren companion. This spren grants you:

  • Advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

  • Telepathic communication with the spren within 1 mile. 

  • Spren Guidance: You can add your Wisdom modifier to any one saving throw per short rest (reaction).

Stormlight

The Nahel Bond gives you access to the use of Stormlight. Stormlight is investiture that comes from nature. You have twice your ranger level in Stormlight. It allows you to use surges based on the the spren you are bonded to. Surges enhance an attack in some way. You can use only one surge per attack. Stormlight is recovered on a long rest.

The Surge of Gravitation can be manipulated to change the direction and strength of an object's gravitational attraction.  This ability alters an object's or being's spiritual gravitational bond to the planet below, instead temporarily linking it to a different direction. It allows the you to run up walls, or send objects or people flying off into the air.

At higher levels you can use lashes to float and fly as well as lash objects and creatures to push them in any direction.

 Level 3: Basic Lashing

As a bonus action, you can Lash yourself and change your direction of down and move a long a vertical and upside down surfaces until the end of your turn.

This uses no Stormlight, usable the number of your WIS modifier per long rest.

Level 3: Basic Lashing (Stormlight)

As a bonus action, you can use 1 Stormlight to lash yourself and change your direction of down and move along a vertical and upside down surfaces until the end of your turn.
Spending 2 Stormlight you can lash yourself in a different direction until end of turn. That direction is now down for you. If there is nothing for you to stand on, you will fall in that direction until you hit a surface to a maximum height of your movement speed. To sustain the lashing, spend 1 Stormlight for each turn.

Spending 1 Stormlight creates a half lashing and allows you to levitate 5 feet off the ground. To sustain the lashing, spend 1 Stormlight for each turn. To move in any direction, spend 1 Stormlight for each direction you move each turn.

If you decide to not sustain the lashing, and you still have Stormlight, you fill drop to the ground and land on your feet and not take any damage. If you cannot sustain it because you are out of Stormlight, you will fall and take 1d6 damage for every 10 feet you fall. When you hit the ground you will be prone for one turn.

Level 7: Basic Lashing (Improved)

As an action, you can use 2 Stormlight you can lash an object or creature within 5 ft of you in a different direction until end of turn. That direction is now down. On a failed Dexterity save, the target will fall in that direction until it hits a surface to a maximum height of your movement speed. To sustain the lashing, spend 1 Stormlight for each turn.

Spending 1 Stormlight creates a half lashing and allows you to levitate up to 5 feet off the ground. To sustain the lashing, spend 1 Stormlight for each turn. To move in any direction, spend 1 Stormlight for each direction you move each turn.

If you decide to not sustain the lashing, it will fall and take 1d6 damage for every 10 feet it falls. After the fall a creature will be prone for one turn.

Radiant Damage

When you hit with your mele weapon, it deals additional radiant damage based on your Windrunner Ranger level:

3–6  +1d4 radiant

7–10 +1d6 radiant

11–14 +1d8 radiant

15–17 +1d10 radiant

18–20 +2d6 radiant 

Level 7: Second Ideal

"I will protect those who cannot protect themselves"  -  Second Ideal

 

After swearing the second Ideal, you have access to the surge of Adhesion. 

Full Lashing

Full Lashing is a surge of adhesion. Using stormlight, you can adhere object or people to other objects or people. It can prevent an object from moving or can create bindings that trap enemies or objects.

As an action, expend 2 Stormlight to target a creature or object in melee.

The target must make a Strength saving throw (DC {{modifier:wis}}) or be restrained for 1 minute.

The restrained creature can repeat the save at the end of its turns.

Additional 2 Stormlight can be used to coat an 10 ft square on a surface. Creatures entering or starting their turn must succeed a Strength save or be restrained. Lasts 1 minute

Level 11: Third Ideal

"I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right." - Kaladin Stormblessed

 

The third ideal deals with protecting others even if it it difficult. There are times where you would rather not help someone, but they still need it. The oath you swear to this ideal should be personal to you.

After swearing the Third Ideal, your spren can transform into a shardblade. The shardblade may take the shape of any weapon you are proficient in. 

 

Level 15: Fourth Ideal

"I accept that there will be those I cannot protect"

 

The fourth ideal deals with knowing that while you have sworn to protect others, there are limitations. You start to understand that you cannot protect those that don't want protection and you are still one person and cannot protect everyone. This ideal helps you understand that it is not your fault if you cannot save someone. You must not take it personally if you fail to save someone. 

Saying the 4th ideal gives your access to living shardplate created by windspren. The armor is instantly attuned to you. As a bonus action you can summon or dismiss the armor. As a reaction you may choose to have the armor protect to a creature that you want to protect within 60 ft of you.
