Base Class: Fighter
Mark Your Target and Vanquish Your Foe
Vigilantes are relentless enforcers who pursue their foes without mercy. To cross a Vigilante is to be hunted—hemmed in by intimidation, struck down for every mistake, and forced to face the consequences of one’s violence. Each mark fuels their pursuit, driving them to exploit openings, punish aggression, and turn the tide of battle with calculated ferocity. Over time, Vigilantes become living embodiments of retribution, capable of subduing multiple foes at once and delivering swift, decisive justice to the guilty. For them, combat is not chaos but a trial, and every enemy marked is a sentence waiting to be carried out.
Level 3: Mark Your Target
You learn to mark your foes to gain the upper hand when hunting them down. Marks are fueled by Vigor Points. When you hit a creature with a Weapon Attack or Unarmed Strike, you can spend 1 Vigor Point and choose an option below to mark it. Once you mark a creature, it is marked for 1 minute. You can only have one creature marked and only one mark on a creature. A mark ends early if you have the Incapacitated condition.
You can empower your marks, giving them extra benefits. When you mark a creature, if you spend 2 Vigor Points instead of 1, you can empower it.
You have 4 Vigor Points. You regain all of your expended Vigor Points when you finish a Short or Long Rest. You gain an additional Vigor Point when you reach 7th, 10th, and 15th level.
Aggressive Mark. Once per turn, you can gain Advantage on a Weapon Attack or Unarmed Strike against the target. Empower. If you have Advantage on an attack you make against the target with a Weapon Attack or Unarmed Strike, hit the target, and deal damage, you deal an additional 1d6 damage of the type the weapon or Unarmed Strike dealt.
Distracting Mark. Whenever an ally makes an Opportunity Attack against the target, it has Advantage on the attack roll. Empower. Whenever an ally hits the target with an Opportunity Attack and deals damage, it deals an additional 1d6 damage of the type the attack dealt.
Taunting Mark. The target has Disadvantage on attacks against creatures other than you. Empower. If the target attacks a creature other than you and deals damage, the damage is reduced by 1d6.
Level 3: Relentless Pursuit
You excel at pursuing your targets. When you roll Initiative, you can move up to half your Speed towards a Hostile creature. You are not slowed by Difficult Terrain.
Level 7: Intimidating Force
You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill if you do not already have it. If you already have it, you gain Expertise in the Intimidation skill instead. In addition, you gain the following mark options.
Intimidating Mark. The target has Disadvantage on attack rolls against you. Empower. If the target starts its turn within your reach, it must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 plus your Strength modifier and Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, it must move out of your reach and stay out of your reach for the rest of its turn.
Forceful Mark. You can move through the target's space. Empower. Once per turn when you enter the target's space, you can force it to make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 plus your Strength modifier and Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature is pushed 5 feet in the direction you were moving or has the Prone condition (your choice).
Expertise
You gain Expertise in the Intimidation skill.
Proficiency
You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
Level 10: Vigorous Marks
The d6 used in the marks you gained at level 3 increases to 2d6.
In addition, you can have up to two creatures marked or two marks on one creature. If you use another mark, you choose which previous mark ends.
Level 15: Ultimate Opportunist
You are able to strike your enemies at opportune times. Immediately after a creature within your reach does one of the following, you can make an Opportunity Attack against that creature:
- hits you with a Melee attack and deals damage
- moves to another space within your reach
- stands up from the Prone condition
In addition, if a creature provokes an Opportunity Attack from you and you have taken a Reaction since the start of your last turn, you can spend 1 Vigor Point and still make the Opportunity Attack.
Level 18: Vigilante Justice
You are adept at defeating your marked targets. When you hit a creature you have marked with a Weapon Attack or Unarmed Strike and deal damage, if the damage reduces the creature to 20 Hit Points or less, the creature drops to 0 Hit Points instead.
In addition, you can have up to three creatures marked or three marks on one creature. If you use another mark, you choose which previous mark ends.
