Base Class: Rogue
You focus your training on the grim art of death. Those who adhere to this archetype are diverse: hired killers, spies, bounty hunters, and even specially anointed priests trained to exterminate the enemies of their deity. Stealth, poison, and disguise help you eliminate your foes with deadly efficiency.
Level 3: Assassinate
Starting at 3rd level, you are at your deadliest when you attack from an unseen position. Any weapon attack you score against a creature you started the turn hidden from is a critical hit.
This feature does not apply if you successfully landed an attack roll or cast a spell that affected an enemy in the previous round of combat.
Level 3: Assassin’s Tools
You gain a Disguise Kit and a Poisoner’s Kit, and you have proficiency with them.
Level 9: Infiltration Expertise
You are expert at the following techniques that aid your infiltrations.
Masterful Mimicry. You can unerringly mimic another person’s speech, handwriting, or both if you have spent at least 1 hour studying them.
Roving Aim. Your Speed isn’t reduced to 0 by using Steady Aim.
Assassins Insight. As an action, you can glean one of the following insights about a creature you are hidden from that you can see within 30 ft. of you. Once you learn about a creature, you cannot use that option on that creature again until the end of a long rest.
- Strength. Learn its highest saving throw and one damage type it is immune or resistant to.
- Weakness: Learn its lowest saving throw and one damage type it is vulnerable to.
- Tell: Identify a subtle physical cue - a twitch, glance or breath - that betrays lies. For the next hour, you had advantage on Wisdom (Insight) checks to determine if that creature is telling a lie.
Level 13: Master of Traps
Your methods of assassination are more deadly. The DC for any trap that you set up (such as a hunting trap), environmental effect that you immediately cause (such as cutting a rope to make a chandelier fall on someone) or poison that is either contact, ingested or inhaled (such as Assassin’s Blood) that you use is equal to 8 plus your Dexterity modifier and Proficiency Bonus. Additionally, the first instance of damage caused by one of these is increased by an amount equal to your sneak attack.
Level 17: Death Strike
When you hit with your Sneak Attack on the first round of a combat, the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus your Dexterity modifier and Proficiency Bonus), or the attack’s damage is doubled against the target.
