Monks of the Way of The Ooze are masters of flexibility and the body. Capable of controlling themselves to such a fine degree, that they can twist and contort their bodies in unnatural ways with the power of their Ki. True masters of this way are oft compared to the monsters that are its namesake, the Ooze, capable of wrapping around and crushing their opponents while generating Acid with their Ki to melt and dissolve them.

Ooze Technique

Starting at 3rd level when you select this Monastic Tradition, you become capable of manipulating the flow of Ki through your body to enhance your ability to grapple your opponents by contorting and wrapping your body around theirs, restricting them heavily. This grants a number of benefits:

  • You have advantage on Athletics (Grapple) checks.
  • When you move and drag a grappled opponent who is your size or smaller, your speed is no longer halved.
  • Any action an opponent you have grappled takes that requires significant or precise physical movement, such as attacking or casting a spell with somatic components, has disadvantage.

 

Ooze Crush

At 6th level, you gain the ability to crush opponents you have in your grip with vicelike strength, bending and twisting their rigid bodies in unnatural ways while you remain flexible. When an opponent starts their turn grappled by you, they must pass a Constitution saving throw or receive damage equal to your unarmed strike including any effects that modify or enhance your unarmed strikes. On a successful save, they take no damage.

 

Acidic Ki

At 11th level, you gain the ability to channel your Ki into a powerful acid that can coat and cover your skin. You may add Acid damage to all of your unarmed strikes equal to your Proficiency bonus.

Contortion Mastery

At 17th level, you have achieved ultimate mastery over your internal Ki coupled with unmatched understanding of anatomy and the fragility of rigid life, which allows you to contort in ever more strange ways. You can wrap around key parts of your opponents bodies to bring even the largest of opponents to their knees. You may now grapple targets of any size. Targets that you Grapple who are more than 1 size category larger than you have their speed halved instead of reduced to 0, and you cannot drag them when you move (but you may move and reposition around them, so long as you remain adjacent to them at all times). Additionally, targets you have grappled must now make a Constitution save against your Unarmed damage whenever they start or end their turn grappled by you.
