Base Class: Monk
The way of the One who Walks is built on the ideas of Determination and Enlightenment. This path focuses on the Monk's relentless pursuit of success against challenges, until they yeild or the Monk gains Enlightenment enough to overcome the obstacle.
Determined assault
One who Walks never yields before an obstacle, instead they pursue victory without thought of defeat. Their focus is so great that they can even capture some of the energy expended by an opponent or obstacle that resists them.
Whenever they land an unarmed strike against enemy who does not die or yield to them, they can capture some of the energy the is expended by the defender, storing it as an additional dice of damage that they may use on a subsequent, successful unarmed strike, within 1 minute.
If they choose not to expend this bonus dice on their next successful unarmed strike, then they increase the die by 1 (Going from D4-D6-D8-D10-D12 Max). This bonus die deals Force damage to the target in addition to the One who Walks normal unarmed Bludgeoning damage.
This ability also works when the One who Walks is trying to use brute force to destroy an object or obstacle.
The One who Walks also gains the ability to channel this built up energy into a powerful projectile, extending the range of the Monk’s chosen unarmed strike. By reducing the built-up damage die by 1 (from D12 -D10-D8-D6-D4, the Monk must have at least a D4 damage remaining) or by expending a Ki point with at least 1 die built up, they may make their next unarmed strike into a ranged attack that can strike an enemy 30’ away. The attack deals all of the Monk’s Unarmed damage and Bonus die damage as Force damage.
At later Levels – Starting at 7 and then again at 11, 15 and 19 level the Monk generates an additional die with each strike. Subsequent strikes increase the first die while adding the additional, until the Monk’s Max die total is reached. When the First stored die reaches its max (D12) then subsequent Strikes increase the 2 die and so on until the Monk expends the dice or all are maxed at D12s
At Later Levels – Starting at 8 Level the Monk can convert the stored energy into a powerful AOE strike. By reducing a Die by 2 Levels, or expending 2 Ki points with at least 2 die levels stored, the Monk deals their Unarmed strike damage and bonus Dice Damage to all creatures within 15’ of them as Force Damage. Characters affected take half damage on a Dexterity Saving throw against the Monk’s Spell Save DC.
At Later Levels – Starting at 10th Level the Monk may make a ranged attack without expending a Ki point or reducing the damage die, so long as they have a Die stored. If they choose to expend a Ki point or reduce the damage die then the attack's range increases by 30’. When damage Dice are generated they start at a D6 instead of a D4. Expending a die level to power an ability can still reduce a Die to a D4
Enlightened Strikes
At 6th level, you gain the ability to expend a Ki point of a successful unarmed strike to extract 2 pieces of information or aspects, from the target hit. These aspects may include Defenses, Stat bonuses, damage enhancements, resistances or immunity.
At 11th Level the Monk gains 2 aspects on a successful strike without expending a Ki point.
Resistance Redirection
Beginning at 11th level the One who walks may channel the energy expended by that which resists and opposes them to empower themselves.
When ever you take damage from an enemy or obstacle, you generate a bonus die of damage for the Fist of Determination.
When struck by a Melee attack you may expend 1 Ki point to gain 2 aspects about the attacker, as if you had struck them with Enlightened Strikes
When you take damage you may expend 1 Ki point to gain resistance to that damage type until the end source of the damages Next turn. If multiple types of Damage are sustained at once from a single source, you may activate this multiple times to gain resistance to some or all of the types. This does not reduce the damage from the initial source.
At 15th Level you may activate the damage resistance and apply it to the initial source as well as until the end of the source's next turn
At 15th Level you when struck by a Melee attack you gain the 2 aspects without expending a Ki Point
Irresistable Force
At 17th level, you gain the ability to decipher and negate the defenses of opponents. You gain the following benefits
Against Objects you are considered to have the Siege Property and deal double damage to them
After striking an opponent for the first time in combat you may choose to ignore any resistance that they have which you have learned from Enlightened Strikes and you can convert any Damage immunity possessed into a Resistance (This cannot be further reduced). These changes only impact your attacks and effects that are used against the enemy. They remain active until you attack another target in combat (including taking reaction attacks against them but not when damaging them with an AOE ability)
Additionally you may spend 3 Ki Points to give the enemy vulnerability to You until the end of your current turn.
