Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks spend much time learning about many things that occupy the material plane. Some monks take special training to become the monsters that occupy the material plane. These monks follow the Way of the Monster, an order dedicated to maintaining balance between the destructive power of monsters and the constructive power of civilization. These monks learn how to utilize the elemental power of the dragons, the magical power of the fey, the healing power of the celestials, and the raw power of the giants.

Draconic Strikes

Starting when you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you gain the ability to empower your attacks with the elemental fury of dragons. By spending 2 ki points, you can, when you make an unarmed strike, do an additional 2d10 fire, cold, acid, poison, or lightning damage.

Fey's Influence

The magic that the creatures of the Feywild use to influence their prey has been committed to books. Through your study of these types of magic, you have learned to replicate them. Starting at 6th level, as an action, you can spend a ki point to force a creature you can see and that can hear you to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your Wisdom Modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, you can choose a condition to apply to that creature: sleep, charmed, frightened, deafened, blinded, or stunned. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum of 1).

Soul of the Celestial

Starting at 11th level, the power of the celestials has had an effect on your ki and body. You can, as a bonus action, extend your ki into others around you and spend 1 ki point to touch a creature and heal 2d4 points of damage.

Power of the Giants

Starting at 17th level, you learn to harness the raw power of the giants. Whenever you make an unarmed attack, you can choose to do one of two things:

  • Giant Fist: You can increase your attack roll by an amount equal to your proficiency bonus, before it is determined if the attack hits, and if the attack hits, the damage is halved (before applying immunities, resistances, or vulnerabilities).
  • Strong Fist: You can reduce your attack roll by an amount equal to your proficiency bonus, before it is determined if the attack hits, and if the attack hits, the damage is doubled (before applying immunities, resistances, or vulnerabilities).
