Base Class: Monk
Monks that follow the Way of the Five Disciples developed a profound understanding of life based on observation of nature. They understood that everything in the Universe comes out of the profound, which manifests as the five Disciples of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. These elements, or Disciples ,were understood to be the prime energetic building blocks from which all material substance in the world is composed. Wood/Spring: a period of growth, which generates abundant wood and vitality. Fire/Summer: a period of swelling, flowering, brimming with fire and energy. Earth: the in-between transitional seasonal periods. Metal/Autumn: a period of harvesting and collecting. Water/Winter: a period of retreat, where stillness and storage pervades. Channeling their KI into these 5 Disciples, reflect the wisdom and strength gain from mastery. Monks of the Way of the Five Disciples unleash unfathomable might with theirs strikes.
Seeds of Vitality and Wisdom
3rd-level Way of the Five Disciples feature
In spring time you plant the seeds of wisdom, that in time of autumns harvest, you reap the benefits. Your training in the Five Disciples has granted you to absorb all information around you and help guide others towards their path. With small incremental changes, one might find they have a garden.
You gain the following benefits:
- Student of Time. Whenever you make a Intelligence check, you gain a bonus to the check equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of +1).
- Dowry. you learn the Guidance cantrip. For you, it has a range of 30 feet, and when you cast it on a friendly creature and they succeed on the ability check, they gain temporary hit points equal to your Proficiency Bonus + Wisdom modifier. A creature cannot benefit from the temporary hit-points again until the next short or long rest.
Lotus Blossom Strike
3rd-level Way of the Five Disciples feature
You can channel your Ki to create a powerful straight punch that creates a mass amount of wind pressure. When you hit a target with an melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to deal extra damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die + your Strength modifier to the target and additional targets behind. Choose a damage type: bludgeoning, piercing, slashing , or thunder .Each creature within a 15 feet cone behind the initial target must make a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save dc. On a saving throw failure, they take the extra damage rolled and are pushed 5 feet away. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pushed. You can use this feature only once per turn. This feature deals double damage to objects and structures.
At 11th level, When you make an unarmed strike with Flurry of Blows, you can use Lotus Blossom Strike with that strike without spending the Ki point for Lotus Blossom Strike. You can still use Lotus Blossom Strike only once per turn.
Shifting Earth
6th-level Way of the Five Disciples feature
Beginning at 6th level, you can use your reaction to deflect or block an attack when you are hit by a melee weapon attack. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 1d10 + your Strength modifier + your monk level.
If you reduce the damage to 0, you can grapple(automatically) the creature if the creature is large or smaller, you have at least one hand free and the creature is within 5 ft. of you. If you stop the melee attack in this way, you can spend 1 Ki point to make an unarmed melee attack against the attacking creature as part of the same reaction if it is within range. On a hit, you can push it up to 10 feet away from you in a direction of your choice.
Harvest Form
11th-level Way of the Five Disciple's feature
At 11th level, You can channel your Disciple Ki to gather the minerals within your body or surrounding environment. Collecting the gemstone or metal to protect your skin.
As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Ki point to activate Harvest Form. For 1 minutes, You skin becomes as hard as gemstone or metal. You determine the Harvest Form's appearance, and it end's early if you are incapacitated or die. As a bonus action on each of your turns before the feature ends, you can spend 1 Ki point to extend the duration of the feature, up to a limit of 10 minutes.
While the Harvest Form is active, you gain the following effects:
- Dense Ki. Your movement speed is halved and your weight is doubled.
- Jade Body. You gain a bonus to your AC and Constitution Saving Throws equal to your Strength Modifier.
- Seismic Pulse. As an action you can spend out a with a wave of Ki energy that moves though earth and reacts to metals and other energy sources. You can decide whether the energy pulls or pushes creatures and objects. Everything within 15-foot radius must make a Strength saving throw. Every creature that fails their saving throw, is knocked prone and is either pulled 10 feet toward you or pushed 10 feet away from you, depending on the choice you made. Creatures have Disadvantage on the Saving throw roll if it is wearing armor made of metal. Until the end of your next turn, You gain Tremorsense to 15 feet. Within that range, you can effectively see anything provided that you and the source of the vibrations are in contact with the same ground or substance, even if you’re blinded or in darkness.
Dynastic Flow
17th-level Way of the Five Disciples feature
With the final lesson and season, your training in the Way of the Five Disciples is complete. You can perform the aspects of water and the season of winter with your Disciple Ki.
You can replace one of the unarmed strikes with a small whirlpool of aura that clings to a target, you can make a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check contested by the target's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check(the target chooses the ability to use) you can see within 10 feet. If you succeed, you both swap places and its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. This extra distance doesn’t cost movement or provoke opportunity attacks.
You can increase the effect and range by spending Ki points. Each point you spend, to a maximum of 3, you increase the range of the feature by 10 feet and the movement speed reduction by an additional 10 feet.
