Windfall is a battleaxe like no other. Rather than having two half-moon blades opposite one another, it has two blades on the same side forming roughly a 30° angle. The shaft of Windfall is etched with the depiction of a dragon, and a short spike at the top is shaped as a dragon's head with its open mouth forming a forked tip.
Windfall counts as a magical weapon for the sake of overcoming monster resistances. Unlike a normal battleaxe, Windfall deals 2d4 Slashing damage on a successful hit. When rolling the damage for Windfall, if both dice come up as 1s, reroll one of the dice until it results in anything other than a 1. If both dice result roll 4s, a gemstone appears in your coin pouch worth 1d4 x5gp. If you score a critical hit with Windfall these rules apply for any combination of 1s and 4s, so two of either triggers the related effect, two of each triggers both effects, three of either triggers that effect to happen twice. If a critical hit results in all rolls being 1s, reroll the dice until none of them are 1. If a critical hit results in all 4s, you get a single gem worth 100g.

Posted Jul 20, 2021You can't easily make weapons with damage dice that do not exist (2d4), so instead it's a feat that grants you a custom Action that mimics the attack roll. This is a custom item I made for a Dragonborn War Cleric in a game that's a combination of LMoP and DoIP.
