I agree with you. The "on" color on the character sheet itself is actually whatever theme color your character sheet is. The builder is always the default: "DDB red".
I am sure it is just a simple matter of going in a changing the color in the code ....
Which I am also sure would take 1 person all of a few minutes even if it is multiple lines.
A simple request for a simple fix to alleviate every new person from asking is red on or off or.....
I can not tell you how many times new players have made characters and said , "well I did not see that option or spell" etc. etc. because they thought red was off.
Red being the Universal color in most countries (as far as I am aware) of meaning Stop or Off.
and the opposite being true of green meaning Go or On.
It would just alleviate frustration, disappointment, and a waste of time.
Red means on, like the bright red lights. I'm confused as to why you think it means off. It could mean stop, but in context there is no stop. Another big clue is how in LTR languages left means off and right means on. There are a ton of context for the switches and what they mean. Even by considering what defaults would be you would be able to understand them. I don't see your point other than wanting to complain because you feel embarrassed about a mistake.

Arenlor, they're not the first person to a. be confused by the way the toggles work now, or b. request that this change be made. Red can easily be mistaken for stop as in 'no, this choice is not allowed.' We know this because users have literally said as much. You're being rude.
I would go so far as to argue that the use of Red or Green would be a bad design because it doesn't account for people who are colorblind to the most common type of colorblindness (Hiya, hows it goin'?) I would recommend Blue being the 'On' Color in that instance or have the button be a toggle that says Enabled or Disabled instead of a switch, but redesigning the whole UI is not on the top of the priorities list for me as to what I want from the website.
It is extremely unclear especially when trying to introduce new players to DNDBeyond whether a feature is on or off when the color is RED.
If you could change the color to GREEN it would help tremendously.
I am being constantly asked and re-asked what is on and off and told RED is terrible for a ON color.
Since I agree 100% with this...
I hope you at DNDBeyond will also see the logic in changing it to green so it is better understood.

You get used to it by the second or third time.
Oh it is not the point of getting used to it.
It.is the point of a poor design choice of color.

Grayed out or dim also is also fairly universal for off, especially when it comes to electronics.

okay so if gray means off and red means off also...hence more confusion and yet another reason to change the color to green.
Thank you for help expanding on proving my point.

"Play the game however you want to play the game. After all, your fun doesn't threaten my fun."
How about putting a word beside it that says 'enabled' or 'disabled'?
Even if they were to keep the colors set to what your sheet color is something like this would eliminate most of the confusion I feel.

I just mention it because it is the #1 question I get asked and find that new players I introduce to DNDBeyond are confused about.......
And it is literally the first thing they see when they go to create character.
I appreciate almost all of your inputs on the changes and would like to see any one of them or even anything at all done to alleviate the confusion.
Keep posting and maybe 1 person will go in and change something. XX fingers crossed XX
@Jay_Lane,
Exactly.
