My own homebrew monster i published i cant make a new version of. Whenever i select it to create a new monster for templates im met with a server error message telling me to contact support. All of my other unpublished homebrew monsters work fine for copy templates. this is very frustrating because you cant edit published monsters anyways. I spent hours working on version one and now i cant make a new version of my own content.
I'm having the same problem - I don't want to update my homebrew monster - I want to create a new monster using my first one as a starting template i.e. I'm trying to make two variations of the same creature with different weapons.
To be specific; I click on the 'Monsters' drop-down; then click 'create'.
I get the option of 'create from scratch' or to select an existing monster to use as a template.
When I try to select one of my (unpublished) homebrews as the template and click 'create' I get an 'Internal Server Error' screen.
Alternatively, if I select one of the official monsters as a template and click create; the editor comes up already populated with that monster's stats; and I can adjust and rename to make a new home-brew.
For example if I want to have an orc with a longbow (instead of a Javelin), I can bring up the Official Orc stats as a template; then only have to adjust the section describing his ranged attack action; and do not have to manually type in all the other stats.
It's very annoying that I can't do this with my own home-brews and have to re-build it from scratch every time if I want to make a variant.
To clarify, I'm fairly certain that I was able to do this a few months ago; its only recently that I started getting an error.

Hi there RocketLawnChair,
there's no need to create from template to update your homebrew.
If your homebrew is unpublished - just use the edit button and make whatever changes you need.
If your homebrew has been published - click the "create new version" link at the top of the content page for that homebrew.
