I've been trying to determine how to create an item I wanted to use, but cannot figure out how to add the "Special" weapon property (such as is listed on the Double-Bladed Scimitar). My goal is to create a Khopesh, but to add a special property that allows you to either trip or disarm someone rather than doing damage.
trip sounds like a variant of the shove action available to all characters anyway, there's also a disarm rule mentioned in the DMG.
The D&D Beyond homebrew system doesn't currently cater for homebrew of mundane weapons.
I suggest for now, either make this a magical weapon with additional powers, or just add the special actions directly to the character sheet (noting that you can also rename weapons on the character sheet).
I was trying to create this using the magic weapon home-brew creation. The issue I ran into is that while the weapon property "special" clearly exists (as indicated by its use on the double bladed scimitar), it isn't available to add to a weapon you create. Is this something that is planned for the future?
I was going to potentially use the disarm rule as well, but I would like to have my item be able to document this the same way as a standard item would. While just putting it on the character sheet will "get it there", having the property show as a reminder to new players will make sure that they remember they can do something that isn't standard.

Hello,
I've been trying to determine how to create an item I wanted to use, but cannot figure out how to add the "Special" weapon property (such as is listed on the Double-Bladed Scimitar). My goal is to create a Khopesh, but to add a special property that allows you to either trip or disarm someone rather than doing damage.
Is there a way to do something along those lines?
