When exporting a character, I am getting a list of all of their available spells, but none of these are marked as prepared, despite being prepared in the online character sheet.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug in the PDF export?
you're correct - it doesn't indicate which spells are currently prepared - mostly because this often changes during play, so the option is left to the player and a pencil to indicate which of their spells they have prepared.
I'm not passing judgement on the requests here - everyone is welcome to play the game in their own way, but noting that it's interesting that the character sheet export used to work this way - it only showed the spells that were currently prepared.
There was a reasonable amount of feedback on these forums to say that this needed to change - the character sheet export needed to show all spells that the character knew, so that decisions could be made during a game session on changing the prepared spells.
The product team listen to feedback though, so maybe a future iteration will include an option for whether all spells or just prepared spells should be exported. I don't know. :)

I didn't ask not to list all known spells - that would indeed be annoying. What I'm asking for is to list all known spells but mark the currently prepared ones with a 'P', as is done (for example) with domain spells that are always prepared.
From what you're saying of the history, I don't think the change to switch to 'all spells' from 'prepared spells only' was thought about enough. Someone needed to take a step back rather than just implement verbatim a suggestion to show all known spells rather than prepared ones.
Anyone + their pen can later change the prepared spells on the exported sheet if they want to change them before a re-export, in exactly the same way as would be done now anyway (you have to write a 'P' in yourself). The only difference would potentially be crossing out a previous 'P'.

That does make sense. It would be nice if there were an option to just show prepared spells.
I tend to have to re-print character sheets between sessions anyway!
Yes please this needs to change. The export should show what is down on the exported sheet. What's the point in selecting spells to prepare otherwise?

I think a lot of this will be fixed when we get custom spell cards or a similar adaptation to make all of this a lot easier!
