When creating a weapon, under the Modifiers dropdown, there is a field labeled "Requires Attunement". When you Edit the item you have created, there is no option to Edit the Requires Attunement field (True / False).
To add to this topic, I do not believe this has been fixed. Now that we're out of beta, this has a real-life impact on my game, so I wanted to add some further information. I'm trying to create a homebrew version of Hazirawn. It is a legendary greatsword (natually 2d6 slashing damage) with +1 attack and +1d6 necrotic damage. When attuned it gains an additional +1 attack and +1d6 necrotic damage.
Below is a screenshot of the modifiers, what it looks like when editing a modifier, and what the weapon looks like on a character sheet.
I cannot find any way to edit the modifiers for requiring attunement. They always state False.
When equipped, it shows the correct +to hit for being attuned (+11 in my character's case) and the correct flat damage (+7). It only shows 2d6 slashing damage. Neither of the necrotic d6's (unattuned or attuned) are listed.
Here's a link to the actual weapon (it's not published, but I believe the devs can still see it, let me know if not).
Hi, has this problem been fixed? WE have required a mace in our adventure that came with an attunement and we cannot add even after having the mace for some time?
The issue isn't about the attunement itself - it's that when an item has two or more modifiers with one affected by attunement while the other isn't.
As an example: a weapon could be +1 with a stored spell when attuned, but can be used as a +1 weapon without attunement as well. The modifier portion is supposed to able to have the option to have items have modifiers of each type (attuned vs unattuned) so that the example I gave would work
right now ALL of an items modifiers are tied to attunement

Ahhh the requires attunement on the modifiers is hidden away for standard users - I'll flag this with staff when I next get a hold of them.

I am not a standard user and I have the same problem.
This issue still has not been addressed.
Also is still an issue for my homebrew items.

Still looking for a way myself.
Actually scratch this - i will make a new post rather than cause a distraction here!

was this ever addressed?
I ask, as on this page:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/d-d-beyond-feedback/3625-beta-everything-you-need-to-know-about-homebrew#c3
it shows a column I can't seem to find when building a homebrew weapon:
Currently mine looks like so:

Has this been fixed yet? Can I make a +1 item that always gives the +1 but has other effects when attuned?
This still hasn't been fixed

5 years later and this issue still hasn't been addressed...
This is a very old thread and item attunement is done differently now, with a field under Basic Information not a Modifier attribute field.
