When i go to the modifier type and select "Spell Slot Increase", the modifier sub-type has no results, giving me only "no match found", resulting in the modifier being unable to be created.
I have a player who drank a potion that gave him an additional spell slot, but I currently can not add it in DnDBeyond
That modifier is a remnant that has never worked (the homebrew tools are just a limited version of the same tools the devs use). Probably the best way to represent this is to create a limited use action that counts as a spell slot.
How would that look, exactly? I am attempting to create a point based sorcerer in homebrew, and while we can't track the points used in DnDBeyond, I am attempting to at least give my player access to the additional spells the homebrew class can create.
I'm a bit puzzled hon how to create this limited use- action that will count as a spell slot.

If they have the ability to make extra slots (like sorcerer's font of magic) this doesn't work as well. But if they have a limited number of extra slots, it is quite simple:
In homebrew feat/feature click add action.
Name, description, etc.
Save
Edit action
Click add limited use data.
The limited use data can be based on a stat and/or proficiency bonus and can change according to level.

Thanks DxJxC! I was able to create a point based sorcerer, and have my character have a counter he could use in DNDBeyond. With the info you shared above, I also was able to set the points per level automatically as he increases level, instead of having to go in and adjust the number.
One of my frustrations with the sorcerer was how little spells they have access to, and they become repetitive. One way I wanted to get around this was to add 5 additional known spells by level 20. Unfortunately, DNDBeyond has the amount of spells a character can learn hardset into the class. The way I "got around" this issue was to give my character an item that I will add the extra spells ability to do. This will essentially give my player an accurate spell list, and since we are using a points based system instead of spell slots, we have a good way of tracking that. And now, with your help, we can track it inside of DnDBeyond!
Now I wish I could get rid of some of the extra info in the base sorcerer class- like font of magic, and converting sorcery points so it wouldn't clog up the actions and features list.

It would still have that even using spell points. You could see it as having extra spell points. You can also convert spell points into sorcery points, but not 1 for 1.
