i'm thinking of this build and was wanting some extra input or ideas for it.
Savage and decaying prehistoric looking snapping turtle.
As a Tortle you get a set AC of 17
Starting out with barbarian Path of the Beast for the Tail Form at lvl 3 - 6 for Soul of the Beast feature, quick dip to lock, then back to barbarian lvl 9+. Tail form as a reaction lets you roll 1d8, if a enemy you can see within 10ft of you hits you with an attack roll, adding it to your AC potentially causing the attack to miss you. I like this form over Claws because after a reckless attack even when they have advantage you can boost your AC to a max of 25, or 27 if you have a shield.
Warlock dip 2 levels in Undead patron (I was thinking of like a dinosaur type litch or some prehistoric type creature), adds an extra bonus action for set up, but 1d10+2 temp hp and you're immune to frighten. Spells would be utility spells keeping CHA around 13-14, like comprehend language and unseen servant/mage hand for out of combat interactions. Also taking 2 invocations Devil Sight and Beguiling Influence.
I am currently playing a barbarian warlock with a 14 charisma. From play here are my recommendations: EB+AB+Hex - Take it. Too many combats make sense to just use ranged attacks or will be difficult to pull of rage during. Instead use hex. A 14 charisma was fine to be reasonably useful with agonizing blast and hex and you have 120 ft. At 5th level you get two blasts and its like a cheap ranged extra attack.
Unless you go to 3rd level Agathys isn't that useful.
False life at will invocation is great on a barbarian. You always will be starting combat with an extra couple of HP. Devil's sight is great though, so no argument with going that way.
Based on your description above I would drop beguling influence for ag blast, and pick up hex. With limited rages per day hex will give you a few combats you can do more damage in.
As for the Beast forms, from seeing it in play the tail is extremely good. In particular if you find you need help on AC or spend a lot of time recklessly attacking it may be the optimal choice.
I thinking of only keeping the warlock dip at 2 lvls to boost out of combat/rp situations that i feel the barbarian lacks.
I like your point on EB & Hex combo when dealing with ranged when getting low on, or trying to save rages. But im not sure if ag blast (only adding +1 or 2dmg) is worth it over 2 proficiencies with Beguling influence.
False Life and Armor of Agathys i dont think synergize with the Undead Warlocks Form of Dread temp hp.
The creature attacking only gets the extra cold damage from Agathys "while you have these hit points". so even if this was precasted before the fight, as soon as you Form of Dread you replace those temp HP losing the extra effect. Similar with False life.
May I ask you choice of Weapon(s) for Barbarians, i thought about if i wanted him duel wielding, or just keeping the two handed weapons.
There are those (and I am one) who believe the beast can attack once with a greatsword, 2 times with the claws.
As one action? or do you mean with extra attack. like great sword attack, extra attack claw BA claw attack?
i mean the claw is considered an unarmed strike, which i guess you can make, when both of your hands are busy holding something else. there's plenty of films and shows where someone punches another person even while holding a gun/sword. but i would probably rule that the damage goes back to bludgeoning since you wouldn't open your hands to scratch like a claw.
however its does say, "Each of your hands transforms into a claw, which you can use as a weapon if it’s empty..." so yeah probably by dm discretion.
"Claws. Each of your hands transforms into a claw, which you can use as a weapon if it’s empty. It deals 1d6 slashing damage on a hit. Once on each of your turns when you attack with a claw using the Attack action, you can make one additional claw attack as part of the same action."
So yes with extra attack you attack with the greatsword, then attack with the claw and then get an additional attack with claw. That is your action.
I'm a big fan of Barbarian/Warlock multiclasses... and if you're not relying on EB for damage, you can get by without maxed CHA easily. Undead Patron is awesome for this, too.
I'd suggest Pact of the Tome for maximum out of combat utility.

Currently I am using a Greatsword. There are those (and I am one) who believe the beast can attack once with a greatsword, 2 times with the claws.
If you go with EB for ranged I would try to keep the charisma at 14. Ag blast is definitely optional, but I have found it useful.
I agree that form of dread makes False Life/Agathys less useful.
