Dual Wielding and Thrown Weapon fighting can stack in multiple ways with a Barbarian for extra damage…
Step 1: You can now draw a weapon as part of an attack, so throwing weapons is on the table
Step 2: Rage damage adds to Str based thrown weapons now, reckless attack works too
Step 3: The Nick Weapon Mastery lets you take the normal bonus action two weapon fighting attack as part of your attack action (so doesn’t clash with rage)… It also doesn’t specify that it has to be a melee attack
Step 4: Dual Wielder Feat, you can attack again with your bonus action. If you have TWF, you get to add your ability modifier to the damage, but only for the attacks you make with the Attack action (Dual Wielder doesn't interact with TWF). So…
Step 5: Thrown Weapon Fighting adds more damage than Two Weapon Fighting Style (+8 vs max +5) and works with all the above…
So if we have a Barb 5 Fighter 1 (18 Strength)
Barb 4 Dual Wield feat
Fighter 1 Thrown Weapon Fighting style
1x Light Hammer throw 1d4+8 (Nick)
1x Trident throw 1d8+8 (Topple) or Spear (Sap) for d6+8
1x Handaxe throw (Vex, Atk from Nick) 1d6+4*
1x Trident (Topple, BA) 1d8+4* or Spear (Sap) for d6+4*
*The reason the modifiers are different is because for two of the attacks, we can’t add the Strength modifier.
Damage:
First Turn (rage BA): 30.5 average damage
Normal Atk (after rage): 39 average damage
If I had to choose a subclass, I would love to go Path of the Giant, and though I do not see many DMs who would allow you to add your rage damage twice from this… the lv6 feature would allow you to gain +3d6 damage and make nearly all your damage to acid, cold, fire, thunder, or lightning (You’d still need one Nick weapon and one different weapon, best would be a Handaxe).
Alternatively, could go Beserker so that you don’t have to pick up the dual wielder feat and can still get a bonus action attack. This compares well to Path of the Giant, as you still get extra d6 damage it just forces you to use Reckless Attack.
Note: Technically RAW you can do all of this with a shield in one hans, but I wouldn’t let that happen at my table and I think it will be eratta’d
Two-Weapon Fighting Style lets you add your ability modifier to the damage of the extra attack made with Dual Wielder feat.
Has this been ruled on or is that your reading? As it is very gray and actually since that BA is not the light property but a separate aspect of a feat I’d say RAW you can’t:
When you make an extra attack as a result of using a weapon that has the Light property, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of that attack if you aren’t already adding it to the damage.

D&D, Youth Work and the Priesthood sadly do not typically interact... I do what I can!
It's been asked to Lead Dev Jeremy Crawford and when i look at Nick Mastery or Dual Wielder, both are extra attack you make as a result of using a weapon that has the Light property because both occur when you take the Attack action on your turn and attack with a Light weapon.
I hope you are right, it would certainly be helpful and make sense.
Crawford weighing in is good because that brings some clarity for RAI but until we have some evidence of that it may be hard to convince DMs/playgroups
I’m still up in the air, and for that reason I’ll leave it is as so that it is still based of RAW
Kind of sad you have to multiclass for this. Barbarians are on the lower end of martial warriors they could get fighting styles and would not out pace the fighter, ranger, monk or paladin.
Yeah it is sad we don’t get fighting styles, but we can still get them via a feat. I think something trust is worth noting in your damage considerations though off trust Barbarians can always have advantage.
If we wanted to also take advantage of Cleave for another extra attack Barbarian are the most reliable at getting that Cleave attack to hit.

Sadly they can not take a feat for the fighting styles as the prereq is having a fighting style. And yeah barbarians do okay in damage for a bit but they fall behind hard tier 3.

This feat still exists from Tasha’s:
Fighting Initiate
Prerequisite: Proficiency with a martial weapon
Your martial training has helped you develop a particular style of fighting. As a result, you learn one Fighting Style option of your choice from the fighter class. If you already have a style, the one you choose must be different.
Whenever you reach a level that grants the Ability Score Improvement feature, you can replace this feat's fighting style with another one from the fighter class that you don't have.

While the feat exists they have said that if a new feat takes its place use the updated feat. And the new fighting style feats require the fighting style feature, which surprisingly to me don't seem to be 1/2 feats.

There is no ‘Fighting Initiate’ feat in the 2024 Player’s Handbook, so it’s fair game (subject to your table’s DM, as always)
