Not sure thought someone out there could clarify if you rage you get an extra 5 foot range. if you have a weapon that grants you an additional 5 with your already 5 foot range that would be 15 ft. does that mean the lv6 ability you get that can turn a weapon you have into a thrown weapon 20/60 does that mean you can only throw it 5 feet without disadvantage or does that mean the 20 is added to their 15 ft making it 35 feet anything farther out disadvantage?

The level 3 feature "Giant Stature" increases your Reach by 5 feet while you're Raging. That's in addition to whatever the normal Reach of your weapon is, so if your weapon already has a Reach of 10 feet, it now has a Reach of 15 feet.
Reach is only relevant for melee attacks, so it has no impact on the range of a thrown weapon.
So if im understanding this right if I rage and have a 15 foot range the only thing the Elemental Cleaver all it does besides the elemental damage is add 5 feet to any one weapon that want to throw. If that is the case not really useful except the elemental damage.

Well, it makes it possible to throw the weapon at all, but yes, its thrown range is only 5 feet longer than its melee attack Reach in that case.
I've actually run into a spot of confusion regarding this as well. Im playing a Bugbear Path of the Giant Barbarian and currently with a halberd, I have a 20ft and will be 25ft by level 14 range for melee strikes while raging with this weapon. I I were to throw a greataxe with the Elemental Cleaver ability which has a 20/60 range. If you calculate throw range from the edge of the token, I'd be at disadvantage throwing the axe at a distance i could hit with a melee strike. So do we count throw distance from the edge of melee range or token edge here?
i think id argue that the use of thrown weapons is fundamentally different from ranged weapons. when you knock an arrow to a bow or aim a crossbow, the projectile's origin is next to the body. it makes sense that it begins at the character's frame.
a thrown weapon begins its travel often at or near the edge of a person's reach
sadly there's nothing in the rules to govern this difference one way or the other leaving RAW to interpret them both the same. i think calculating it from the edge of reach makes more sense both logically and solves the thematic problems of being at disadvantage on a thrown attack you could hit normally as a regular melee.
if you need a fix for the thrown benefits that could work strictly RAW however, Obojima, Tales from the Tall Grass has an uncommon magic item called Hurler's Gloves which grants a +2 to damage rolls for ranged weapons and grants an additional 15ft of range on them as well, however this is partnered content that has much in the way of content that may not match your campaign settings so take that for what you will
There is also a Feat in Taldorei - Reborn (thrown attack specialization/mastery?) that gives and increased range to thrown weapons, again also 3rd party content.
In the case of the bugbear path of the giant barbarian with halberd, there aren't really many reasons to throw a weapon if you can reach the target in "melee" during your turn, but you did specialize in extra Melee Range.
extended melee range wasnt exactly what i had in mind when i made the character but it has its obvious perks. i was more interested in being a wookie that grows into a giant furry rancor. 20ft of reach was just icing on the cake. im just bummed that because of how the subclass functions, you get less out of some of the subclass features

Thought that might be the case thanks.

The range for ranged attacks, including thrown attacks, is counted from where you are. Your melee reach has no effect on ranged attacks.
In this specific case that does lead to this ability being less useful, but that’s what the rules say.
