So I've created a Tabaxi Barbarian and have been enjoying playing him and I wanted to make sure I'm doing my math right.
I have chosen the Eagle totem for him at level 3 and also the mobile feat.
So at level 5 my barbarian has a base speed of 50. Now with the mobile feat I can use Dash as a bonus action. And when I use Feline Agility I double all movement speed for that turn.
My math for this would be if I raged and used my movement, 1 attack action and bonus action to get to a fight while using my feline agility it would leave me with 1 attack action.
So I figure with 50 base speed for my movement, 50 speed for dash as bonus action and 50 feet for using my one attack action equaling 150 feet. And then doubling that with feline agility for 300ft?
Hi Methbear, there's one little error here. You do not have two attack actions as a Barbarian, you have two attacks when you take the attack action. See the Extra Attack feature:
Extra Attack
Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
This means that you can move your standard 50 feet, 50 feet as bonus action (eagle totem), then you can either choose to Dash (action) or Attack (action, 2 attacks).
Option A - Move 50 Feet - BA Dash 50 feet - Feline Agility 100 Feet - Make 2 Attacks Summary: Moved 200 feet and made 2 attacks.
Option B - Move 50 Feet - BA Dash 50 Feet - Action Dash 50 feet - Feline Agility 150 feet Summary: Moved 300 feet and made 0 attacks.
Still quite an amazing amount of movement! Hope that helps. :)
Thanks for the info Mellie that was the clarification that I was looking for.
I can't wait to pull that out. Quick clarification am I able to make an attack then do my movement and then do the remaining attack action? Or does it have to be the attack and bonus attack action at once. I was thinking I could shoot a longbow, do all my movement and then slash with a longswor?

I can't wait to pull that out. Quick clarification am I able to make an attack then do my movement and then do the remaining attack action? Or does it have to be the attack and bonus attack action at once. I was thinking I could launch a longbow, do all my movement and then slash with a longswor?
You can definitely split up your attacks! This would also let you to take advantage of Mobile's ability to ignore attacks of opportunity once you have attacked something on your turn. Slash with your longsword, then run that 100-300 feet away and slash someone else. Very fun. :)
Multiple weapons complicates this, though. The thing to keep in mind with multiple weapons is that you get onefree object interaction each turn. So if you draw your longbow, you can't then draw your sword. However if you already have your longbow in hand you can fire with your longbow, drop it on the ground (free), then draw your sword (object interaction).
Oh man I'm so excited to do this. I've given him a Yklwa for flavour and can't wait to stab a healer in the face and then run off and stab the magic user in the face.
So just wanted to see if I played it right last week.
Our wizard cast the spell Haste on me which of course made me even more ridiculously fast. This was my calculation for figuring out.
Move Action - 50ft.
BA Dash (Eagle Totem)- 50ft.
Haste Dash- 50ft.
Haste Speed Bonus- x2
Feline Agility- x2
So if my calculations were correct I hit 150 x2(haste)=300ft x2(feline agility)=600ft and still have 2 attacks.
It was actually pretty funny. I was really tempted just to run around the battlefield a couple of times before I attacked the monster.
Thanks
I didn't find any restrictions on doubling speed, so yes your calculations look correct. 50x2x2= 200 ft per move. So if you Dash twice, this is up to 600 ft. To put this in perspective: 600 ft = 182,88 m which you will travel in 6 seconds. Usain Bolt needed 9,58 seconds to travel 100m with 0.9 m/s wind in his back. Do if Usain Bolt was able to keep the average speed for 182,88m he would need almost 18 seconds, which is three times as much as your Tabaxi Rocket Barbarian needs.
So I doubt that your Barbarian ever needs to have that amount of speed in any encounter, unless you want to imitate the Flash of that Ultra Speedy X-men kid. Your Barbarian won't need any ranged weapons, because he can close the gap physically as fast as a projectile would. So I see little value in using Dash action fro your Hasted Action, delivering 3 (corrected) attacks, with 400 ft of movement, no penalty for difficult terrain, should suffice.
I personally am no fun of doubling stats. I would rather add your base value again, for one operation this results in the same, yet if you combine them it becomes less ridiculous. So with my ruling your Hasted, Feline Agility would result in 50+50+50= 150 ft per move, which is still ridiculous but would 'only' allow a top speed of 450 ft per 6 second or 137,16m which is still a lot more than the fastest human record.
So I see little value in using Dash action fro your Hasted Action, delivering 4 attacks
I would just like to point out that taking the Haste Action to Attack only gives you one attack - even if you have extra attacks. So it would be 3 attacks. Main + extra for Action - then one more for Haste.
