I need some help with my char to see how could I make the most of it.
I have a lvl 9 mountain dwarf (lvl8 Forge Cleric & lvl1 Prismari Sorcerer). I have STR 16, DEX 14, CON 20, INT 11, WIS 20, CHA 13. I have Warcaster and Resilient CON feats. We will go until lvl 14-15. It is already a lot of fun to play this char with the additional mobility of kinetic artistry and booming blade. Our DM let me use my CON as the spellcasting ability for Sorc spells, which makes it even more fun.
I will take one more lvl in forge cleric for sure for animate objects, but was thinking that actually wouldn't worth going further (cleric spells above are not that great). I'm pretty new to dnd, and just realized the potential in sorcery points.
This is the idea: after the next cleric lvl go all the way sorcerer and take the Metamagic adept feat, which would be pretty awesome. Now my question is: does this make sense or is there some good alternatives to consider? Also, what are some great combos with sorcery points and cleric spells I should watch out for? (I already understand extended aid and death ward before long rest is pretty awesome, also quickened spirit guardians+dodge is really amazing)
Oh, I see. That UA was abandoned. Now there’s a prismari feat you can take in Strixhaven, but it’s not a subclass anymore. So I’m not exactly sure what it does. That said, cleric spells of 5th and above are really solid. Mass cure wounds, raise dead, summon celestial, heal, hero’s feast, blade barrier, flame strike, scry, regeneration, true resurrection, word of recall, mass heal, could metrology weather, anti magic field.
But if you’re not into it, that’s cool. What are you looking for from the sorcerer dip? Forge clerics are usually about mixing it up in melee, but sorcerers like to stay away and blast from a distance. Are you looking to get some ranged options while you close in? Or are you thinking about defensive spells? Like shield would probably be something you can put to good use. I’d consider defensive spells to really go for the tankiness forge clerics have. One or two ranged spells never hurt, but you probably already have an offensive cantrip or two to cover that.
And are you the primary healer for the party?

any thoughts?
I’m guessing a prismari is some kind of homebrew subclass? Most folks here won’t know about it.
It is mage of prismari from unearthed arcana
