Circle of Dragons look really fun, especially for dragon lovers such as me, but there are some things to it that I think it should do different. Let me know what you think!
Change 1: Resistances. Every other dragon-based subclass gains some sort of elemental resistance, so it makes sense that this circle gets one as well. So, while wildshaped into the dragon form you gain resistance to the same damage type of the breath weapon you choose. At level 14 this becomes immunity.
Change 2: Breath Weapon. The breath weapon is WAY too weak to have to wait a full minute to use it again. Sure, it's useful against minion hordes, but not only once every 10 turns. I wanted to add Recharge to it. The formula is 6-PB. So at level 3 when you get the form it's 4-6 to recharge. At level 5 it's 3-6, 9 is 2-6, 13 onward is able to be used at will.
Change 3: Use Wisdom in place of Strength while Wildshaped. Like how barbarians can use strength to certain abilities later on while raging, I think it could add a lot of utility to the Dragon Shape if while wildshaped your strength score becomes equal to your wisdom score. Like in the early UA druids where the Beast of the Land form replaced strength, I wanted the Dragon Shape to do the same. This allows the dragon to be useful OUTSIDE of combat as well, such as being able to be a mount, act as a beast of burden and haul things/carts/people around, or help as a builder/destroyer by being able to lift or move rubble. More so if you use Enhance Ability (Strength) before you wildshape to double carrying capacity.
Change 4 (Not sold on this one): Dragon Hide Natural Armor. Sort of like the Draconic Sorcerers getting an AC of 10 + Dex mod + Cha Mod, I was thinking of giving the druid the Wood Wose AC of the same except using Wisdom Mod while not wildshaped. This would give the druid some cushioning when not able to wildshape. I think this is just more to help the druid with Carrying Capacity as they grow scales around their body to help them defend themselves from sneak attacks in case they're caught unawares before they can Wildshape.
