I want to know what you believe is the most over powered build that either monoclasses or multiclasses Eldritch Knight. Be as detailed as you can. I'm talking breakdowns a la Lvl1-2: weapon attack Lvl 3-4:booming blade Lvl5-6: 2 weapon attacks Lvl 7-10: booming blade, 1 weapon attack Lvl11-17: 3 attacks Lvl 18-19: booming blade + one attack Lvl 20: 4 attacks
I'm talking spells known, spells prepared, like Shadow Blade, Shield, Fireball. I'm talking burst damage potential and consistent damage potential. More stats that a news sportscaster could dream of saying.
Multiclass into ranger, use the ua class variants to get hunters mark. Take fey wanderer to get dreadful strikes. First round of combat cast hunters mark. Then second round you activate dreadful strikes. Take duel wielder feat, then duel wield longswords. You are a killer.

How does that include Eldritch Knight features though? Sounds like that's just a ranger with a fighter dip.

The major issue with this is it takes 2 rounds to get activated. As most battles dont last beyond 3-5 rounds you are hoping for 1 good round of damage.
A better solution might be GWM and 2 levels of barbarian to get reckless attacks (ADV helps with the damage a LOT on GWM)

Cause for 17 levels you take eldritch knight. I'm not sure on spells, but this idea was what came to me.

Ok, but it seemed like you were against my idea the way you wrote it.
Yeah and its a discussion forum. Its ok to discuss pros/cons of suggestions to help the person make an informed choice. If you disagree with my suggestions its fine and I would suggest you list any Cons I missed.
I would say take another level in barb then take zealot. Then choose radiant damage.
You can't cast spells while raging, what about 1st level barb zealots (which can't be chosen at first level like you say) would be good with this multiclass? Details and math are the name of the game here.
The main disadvantage: You will not be able to cast spells or concentrate on them while raging.
Why would I want this? You dont get a ton of spells per day for the vast majority of the function life of the build. You will have a great option for when you do run out of spells. If you are going straight to 20 then no multiclass and do the following:
Get Greater Invisibility and Great Weapon Master- ADV on your swings to hit something means you GWM +10 damage will hit a lot more often. They have DIS to hit you too
We're looking for overpowered with optimization, not just "17 levels fighter, 3 levels ranger."
I said about why it would be good. Please, don't take my ideas, but don't expect me to reply again. I love the idea of eldritch knight with fey wanderer, and I think that playing as either eladrin or high elf would be really optimised.

To take advantage of a Zealot's Divine Fury and Extra Attack we'd have to be level 8. 5 into Fighter and 3 into Barbarian. We would have to cast whatever bonus action spells we're looking to use before raging, such as the spell Shadow Blade (2d8 Psychic + Str/Dex + 1d8 Booming Blade) then the next turn we use our bonus action to Rage and HOPE we don't lose concentration, because then we're just swing a rapier at 1d8 +str/dex +1d6, no booming blade as that's a spell.

Then no multi-class and just focus on two things:
Great Weapon Master Getting Advantage- Proficiency in Athletics and Shove to prone, Earth Tremor, Grease, Psionic Blast (UA), Snare, etc...
Use spells to mitigate damage as much as possible: Blur, shield, absorb elements.
Pure damage is easy. Just focus on those two things and the damage will be very very good.
We're looking for overpowered with optimization, not just "17 levels fighter, 3 levels ranger."

Maybe if you elaborated with details, spells, burst and consistent damage numbers, "more stats than a news sportscaster could dream of saying" then we'd get the picture you'd like to paint. But you kind of just said "this with 3 levels of that." The point of having the spell slots as an eldritch knight is to use them to be better than just a swingy boi.

The problem is with the spell restriction you dont really have much options other than:
Pick Evocation/Abjuration spells that would give you Advantage to hit (See my list above) Pick Abjuration spells to help mitigate damage: Shield, Absorb elements.
Shadowblade is a decent option but the 2d8 usually averages less than if you just attacked with a great weapon and hit with Great Weapon Master damage.
2d8+5 = 14 average damage 2d6+ 15 damage = 22 average damage
Even with the most upcast version of the spell you can get: 4d8+ 5 = 23 damage.
It barely outpaces the GWM damage and you can only have it up once per day.
Overall you are much better focusing on mitigating damage and using them to get ADV on strikes.

This is MUCH closer to what I'm talking about, THANK YOU. People just keep commenting without the breakdowns and details.
Let's say we're level 7 and making use of Eldritch Knight's War Magic feature, Great Weapon Master, Booming Blade, and we buffed our Strength Score to 20 with our 2 class and 1 racial ability score improvements. Cantrip + Bonus Action Attack Booming Blade with a Greatsword using Great Weapon Master : 2d6 + 1d8 + 10 + 5 (+2d8 if they move) Bonus Action attack with a Greatsword using Great Weapon Master : 2d6 + 10 + 5. Average damage assuming both hit and the enemy doesn't move : 48.5
Level 7 to level 11 it might be worth it to use Booming Blade but you also might consider not for one reason:
The BA attack you get from a crit or killing a creature with GWM.
Booming Blade + Maul with BA War Mage: 2(2d6 +15) (Assuming you maxed STR) + 1d8= 48.5 damage.....57.5 if they move
Regular attacks: 2(2d6 +15) = 44 damage
Regular attacks but you crit or you reduce a creature to 0 hp: 3 (2d6+15) = 66 damage average
With the regular attacks you also leave open your BA for things like Second Wind or a BA spell from an item or scroll.
True, but that is not reliable, that one will kill the creature their attacking in one or two hits. And if you're not using spellcasting offensively what's the point of going Eldritch Knight as opposed to Battlemaster or Berserker? Later those cantrips turn into 3d8 + 4d8, or 3d6 +4d6 (green flame blade), and the initial damage can crit.
