I was looking at the Elemental Strikes option for the 2024 Warrior of the Elements Monk, and noticed an odd discrepancy; It seems that, with Elemental Attunement active, if the Monk chooses to use Bludgeoning Damage, the monk is prevented from using that option.
Level 3: Elemental Attunement
At the start of your turn, you can expend 1 Focus Point to imbue yourself with elemental energy. The energy lasts for 10 minutes or until you have the Incapacitated condition. You gain the following benefits while this feature is active.
Reach. When you make an Unarmed Strike, your reach is 10 feet greater than normal, as elemental energy extends from you.
Elemental Strikes. Whenever you hit with your Unarmed Strike, you can cause it to deal your choice of Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Thunder damage rather than its normal damage type. When you deal one of these types with it, you can also force the target to make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, you can move the target up to 10 feet toward or away from you, as elemental energy swirls around it.
Bludgeoning seems like it would be justifiable as an Elemental type of damage. It's allowed the extra Reach, as is the Force damage from the level 6 Monk's "Empowered Strikes" feature. An elemental scheme that includes elements such as Earth, Ice, Metal, or Candy can be justified using the Bludgeoning Type. In fact, it's the primary damage type used by the standard Earth, Air, and Water elementals from the Basic Rules (2014).
It seems like this is an oversight? I'm hard pressed to think of an issue where allowing in Bludgeoning would be particularly unbalancing.
Edit: I meant the omission of Bludgeoning Damage from the ability to Push/Pull with Elemental Strikes.
The monk is not precluded from dealing Bludgeoning damage when Elemental Attunement is active. The ability says that you "can" cause it to deal the elemental damage of your choice, not that you have to. If you want your punch to still deal bludgeoning damage, that is still an option.

When I initially wrote the post, my intention was to point out that Bludgeoning was excluded from using the "Push/Pull 10 Feet" option, despite being a damage type that qualifies for the other features, and being justifiable as elemental in nature. Somehow, that got lost in the edits, I will update to note that..

Charisma Saving Throw: DC 18, Failure: 20d6 Psychic Damage, Success: Half damage
I've also noticed that elemental damage doesn't align with the D&D damage types, and it seems here they just decided that those are the types.

Can you elaborate, because all of those are damage types.
