As stated above I am in the process of making my first Holy Warrior for a concept for a Underdark Campaign.
I am liking the idea of a Protector Aasimar sprouting wings and flying into combat. But I am unsure about which Oath to pick. I do like the Oath of Vengeance as the black knight that isn't limited to the Absolute Goodie Goodie (LG alignment).
My rolls were 18, 14, 14, 13,12, 11 with points allocated as such

Language Common, Celestial, Dwarven? (Noble BG). Other Party members know Uncommon and Elvish
Equipment: A set of fine clothes, a signet ring, a scroll of pedigree, and a purse containing 25 gp
I am struggling to come up with a backstory that I am satisfied with.
Born to a Noble family on a large plot of land where he enjoyed the comforts of the finer things in life. Took many hunting trips with his father and his father nobility friends ( I picture English fox hunting parties) learned Survival from that. Until one day his Angelic guide started coming to him through visions...
Looks like you have a good base going there, just a few things to keep in mind. You don't choose your oath until 3rd level so you do have some time to grow into the character and see what might be the best fit for them. Also alignment isn't tied to any particular oath (except maybe oath breaker) so you can feel free to choose any of them and role play to to fit the alignment you like best.
I agree with Dos246 that you have time to grow into an alignment, but if you are favoring Oath of Vengeance, here is a possible spitball idea. He grew up rich but when he began receiving visions from his Deva he left his family home to seek his destiny. The road was difficult, plagued by swindlers and bandits. He began to see a darker side of the world than the one he had always known. As he wandered, his Deva did not appear again and his conviction began to fail. Feeling tricked and foolish, he became angry with the gods, but still feared their wrath. The evils of the world laid before him, he swore to right the wrongs of the world, claim vengeance for the downtrodden and do better for those people than the gods had done.
Just one idea, maybe it will help spark something.

That is far as I have got to.
If you have any input it would be most welcomed.
