ok, so I have a Max level minator oath of conquest Chaotic evil paladin. We are running an evil campaign where everything needs to die. I'm trying to find the best equipment and abilities to: make him a tank, extreme hitter, while complimenting his natural abilities. any ideas? the homebrew and items sections don't allow me to separate items based on class restrictions.
You kind of need to choose between tank and heavy hitter a little. Heavy hitter wants a two handed weapon, tanks work better with weapon and shield. Either way you’ll still be good at the other, but one will be a bit better. What are your restrictions in terms of items?
If you want two hander weapon, glaive or halberd with PAM and sentinel GWM, then use other ASI to max out str, then through a little love to cha, and/or con. Though as a Minotaur, you’ll have racial abilities that will compete with PAM for your bonus action.
Sword and board, the weapons will mechanically all do a d8, so it’s more of a flavor thing. In that case you have more ASI to play with to max out stats. Do NOT take heavy armor master, it will be useless at level 20. Shield master might be helpful, but it would also compete for your bonus action, though it will help with AoEs.
If you’re allowed UA content, those new feats can be cool. In particular, since your horns do piercing damage, you could take a weapon that does as well and take the piercer feat.
In general you’ll want the best armor you can get. And once you decide on 2-hand v. Sword and shield we can maybe give better specific suggestions for equipment.
