Is there any specific reason why the Drakewarden's Drake Companion doesn't have any skills? Like the Iron Defender for a Battle Smith has: "Athletics +2 plus PB, Perception +0 plus PB x 2", yet the Drake Companion doesn't have anything?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but can a Drake deliver touch spells like a typical Familiar? Or is it that the Familiar being an entity of Fey, Fiend or Celestial is what allows it to deliver touch spells you cast from a distance?

No they cant deliver spells. they get infused strikes instead.
Infused Strikes. When another creature within 30 feet of the drake that it can see hits a target with a weapon attack, the drake infuses the strike with its essence, causing the target to take an extra 1d6 damage of the type determined by its Draconic Essence.
If you want to deliver touch spells at range as a ranger: take ritual caster wizard for find familar.(and more) or multiclass artificer and get a Homunculus servant. Both can provide interesting boons to a ranger build but artificer "costs" more.

What gives them that ability is the wording in the Find Familiar spell that says they have it. That may sound pithy, but it's an important concept to remember. If a spell or ability lets you do something, it will tell you that it does.
I'm sure this has been asked before, just can't find it. Does anyone know why the app has available charges? Mine has 20 of 20 with no explanation of what that is.
Do you mean in the features & traits tab under the drake companion? That's for tracking the hp of your drake.
It would be nice if the drake companion had at least one skill, like athletics or intimidation or something similar befitting a small dragon. I know it offers alot already (flight, infused strikes, etc.), but a man can dream.

Duh, that makes complete sense now that you point it out. Sometimes I miss the simplest of things and wonder how I've made it this far as a DM. Thanks a ton!
Its been a while since i have played seriously, but reading the lvl7 Drake Mount aspect. It says you cant use the flying speed but it doesn't say you cant fly it? could that be interpreted to mean that you can fly it but at a walking movement??????? I'm happy to wait till lvl11 (well not really but what can you do :-). )
I think this will be a seriously HB'd subclass to smooth out some of the oddities.

Nope, if the creature doesn't have a flying speed, it can't fly. So if the creature can't use its flying speed, it can't fly. The Level 7 ability lets you use it as a mount as long as you're no bigger than Medium, but not as an aerial mount. It can fly if it's not being ridden.
What "oddities" are you referring to? The text of the subclass is pretty straightforward.

Because it’s a combat companion, not a utility companion. Tougher. More damage. Less skills. Etc.
