Is there stated in the Rules how an encounter works with regards to how enemies have weapons equiped.
the thing i want to make clear is if i as a thief rogue with initiate feat goes first before all others, can i use my movement to rush to a guard and slight of hand his weapon.
do thay allways just hold thair weapon in the hand or is it sheethed im not sure if it is stated anywhere.
You would as combat starts ask the DM to describe the guard… I am moving toward guard or the goblin etc… what do I see as I move, how are they dressed? Are weapons drawn etc…

Battle Master can choose a superiority option to spend a die to force enemies to drop something.
Heat metal can encourage enemies to drop weapons.
Finally there's an optional action called disarm in the dmg. I'll include fast hands here as it's also a dms call(dm option)
The best guarantee for a build around disarming is a battle master. IMO.
