This is an entirely subjective pole without a clear definition. Best at what? Single target damage? Battlefield Control? Exploration? Social manipulation?
Are you meaning to ask, what is your favoriteclass?
Wasn't the Ranger class too much nerfed (( as the players though )) or am I too blind to see it ???
The biggest nerf to rangers came with the changes to damage with ranged weapons. There is no longer the +5 Hit/-10 Damage from Sharpshooter, and it is a little harder to get a bonus action attack, so ranged weapons do less damage now in general. Some people forget, though, that Great Weapon Master now works with Longbows and Heavy Crossbows. That said, other than the Beastmaster, I think most Rangers will be stronger by multiclassing once they get to Ranger level 5 or 6 (when they get Extra Attack and Roving respectively) that they will be by just going full Ranger. The Ranger/Rogue multiclass remains pretty good, adding sneak attack and more expertise onto the Ranger.

And due to the lack of Expertise in Traps FEAT, I think the Ranger class is a bit nerfed............. juuuuuuust a bit. The Best Ranger will allways be the Bow expertise + Familiars + Sneak attack + Guiding the party + Traps ...... that's the best IMO. No matter what the terrain is or what village are you in, you allways gain advantage in hiding (( almost like the Thief/rogue )). The only con side of this is , sometimes you prefer open areas / wilderness instead of civilization.
A duel weilding Ranger with a Nick weapon is very effective. A breast master in exploration roles for himself and his beast on tracking, and other survival skills. The Beast levels/gains more cohesive abilities with its ranger as the ranger levels.

A "Breast Master" ranger is obviously a Suneite yes?

Life's hard - get a helmet!
It depends on what you want to play. Why is this poll in the ranger forum?
Agreed it should be in the general forum
