I just started playing a Soulknife Rogue and am already noticing that I can't go for the usual rogue feats that I would want. With 16 Dexterity to start, I need to use 2 ASI to get to 20, leaving me with 4 ASI remaining. Defensive Duelist doesn't work since I don't hold a weapon outside of my turn. I was thinking of going for Fighting Initiate to get the Dueling fighting style. That way, both blades (action and bonus action) would do an additional 2 damage. Unfortunately, I don't see much else I could pick that could improve my offensive or defensive capabilities. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am trying to avoid multiclassing.
Mobile is always a helpful feat for rogues. It helps get you in and out of combat much easier. As for the rest, I don’t really know man. Tough is pretty general for defensive. Magic initiate(wizard) withshield could be really helpful and fit the theme. Mind sliver and mage hand could be cool cantrips for the class.
It also depends on your race. Elven accuracy would be awesome if that works, or infernal constitution is awesome. Wood elf magic is also quite awesome for rogues
I'm a Shifter (Beasthide). There are no racial feats that I know of that work with a Shifter. I hear that Gift of the Metallic Dragon might be good. I wish Sharpshooter worked with the Psychic Blade; but it doesn't. And of course, neither does Great Weapon Master.
Unfortunately, Gift of the Metallic Dragon isn't a feat you can really just pick up/take. It has to be gifted. Unless your DM overlooks this/doesn't care and will just let ya, then you should be good. But normally you need to be gifted to you................by a Metallic Dragon of some sort in game *looks at the name of the feat* :P
fey touched would be nice. A teleport as well as grabbing hex or bless or another spell to help the party. You wont be using concentration at all otherwise, so its easier to justify you concentrating on bless rather than the cleric who has way cooler stuff to concentrate on.
I know you don't want to multiclass but I cant stress how much a single level of fighter helps the rogue class. Fighting style (thrown or dueling) Medium armor prof (and shields, but meh) martial weapon prof (hello longbow and heavy crossbow) 2nd wind
