So, in my current campaign im playing a warlock of the archfey (fey themed campaign), and my dm probably isn't scared of accidentally killing off pc's (I've known him my whole life and he is like an uncle to me) so I want to create a backup character, I am playing a ranged magic damage dealer and intend to continue doing so as my party is small, and think sorcerer would be fun but I don't know what to build. we only use the Players' Handbook Volos Guide to Monsters and Wild Beyond the Witchlight, I'm thinking wild magic as draconic bloodline wouldn't fit well and we like being chaotic. I need ideas.
Try the coffeelock optimization build, level 2 warlock and level 2 sorcerer = level 4 sorlock, don't limit yourself to one class only. You can search online on what I mean, and try to rename your spells for added flavor in a way that makes sense for the spell. Wild Magic is so random that it can mess with you so bad or bring you a 4th level summon elemental to a fight. So its fun if you want everyone to be affected by randomness.

Yep. The dreaded Sorlock. Quicken eldritch blast, and once you reach a high enough level, use haste to fire off even more eldritch blast beams! Or drop an eldritch blast immediately after casting fireball. Shadow Sorcerer combined with Hexblade Warlock gives both optimization and flavor. Both classes are connected to the Shadowfell, and Eyes of the Dark will give you advantage on your Eldritch Blast attacks! Hexblade's Curse will really benefit from the barrage of attacks, as the damage bonus affects each damage roll. Keep in mind, that the damage bonus from HBC isn't limited to attack rolls. You can even use it with fireball or slow-and-steady damage spells like storm sphere or witch bolt. I found out that HBC even applies to hex, because that's a damage roll. It works RAW, though some DMs might shut it down due to your character "breaking the game" (note the quotations, because min-maxing is just part of D&D, and it's one of the easiest things to fix).
