I never allowed the spell swapping on games i ran. I would always give the other subclasses origin spell lists and those were static too. But i agree, it was a gimmick in the beginning when Tasha's came out and i really like the place the sorcerer is gonna be in with the new 2024 rules.
It's not a change that bothers me. I liked the flexibility that swapping gave me, but it's not a deal breaker.

So what does everyone think about not being able to swap origin spells for the aberrant mind or clockwork soul in the new 2024 rules?
That ability was an attempt to compensate for the sorcerer's absurdly small spell selection. With that increased, it's unnecessary.
(Also, they never could make it work on DDB, and now they don't have to.)
